Surrogate advertising can be stopped more easily than it seems
One remarkable aspect of Kingfisher having gone out of business as an airline is the fact that we can still be invited to “get high" on Kingfisher. While it refers to a colourful bird, the carrier took its name from a popular brand of beer marketed by the same UB Group. Until it folded up, this group’s aviation play was clearly a business in its own right.

Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz win to reach the Paris Olympics doubles quarterfinals
Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz are getting the hang of this doubles thing, improving to 2-0 as a team at the Paris Olympics and moving into the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-7 (2), 10-2 match tiebreaker victory over Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands on Tuesday. Playing a day after Nadal's singles loss to rival Novak Djokovic and Alcaraz's win against Griekspoor, the old-and-young Spanish duo, wearing polo shirts in slightly different shades of red, didn't look like a pairing that never had played together until this event.

England loses out on Euro trophy, Harry Kane wins Golden Boot instead, although shared with five others, here's why
Euro Cup 2024 has seen some interesting rules set by UEFA before the start of the championship earlier. As a result, once the prestigious tournament ended, England's Harry Kane ended up sharing his Golden Boot trophy with five other players who were also the top goal scorers in the entire tournament. This was rather due to a bizarre rule set by UEFA that suggests the highest goal scorers across the tournament will receive the Golden Boot, and if there are more than one player in this list, they will be sharing this award.

Euro 2024: Misfiring England faces on-form Switzerland for a semifinal spot
England will play Switzerland in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 on Saturday. Watch Dutch PM Mark Rutt leaves PMO on bicycle after serving for 14 years, handing over power to his successor Dick Schoff
Netherlands, outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte bid farewell from his office in The Hague in a uniquely Dutch fashion—by bicycle. After a tenure spanning 14 years, Rutte has passed the baton to Dick Schoof, former intelligence chief, who took the oath of office in a ceremony presided over by King Willem-Alexander. Schoof's appointment marks a notable departure from the traditional political landscape, as he assumes leadership without affiliation to any party and absent from the recent electoral fray. Rutte, meanwhile, is poised to assume the role of secretary-general of NATO, a strategic alliance safeguarding member nations across Europe and North America.
