The method of execution known as nitrogen hypoxia entails the deprivation of oxygen to both the brain and the body, resulting in the demise of the inmate through suffocation. The execution of Kenneth Eugene Smith, initially planned via lethal injection, encountered an unexpected cancellation in November. Rising Worry: Mass Shootings in the US Surge in 2023
Mass shootings are occurrences in which four or more people are either killed or injured, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Based on the startling statistics that the USA Today and the Associated Press maintain, about 188 lives have been lost in 36 mass shootings reported in the US in 2023 alone. ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Puts New Indigenous Stars on the Map
When Martin Scorsese set out to make “Killers of the Flower Moon," a film based on a true story about a series of murders targeting the Osage community in the 1920s, the director needed to cast 63 credited Native American roles. So his team called casting director Rene Haynes, who’s spent the last three decades finding Native American talent for film and television projects. For “Killers of the Flower Moon," she worked with Scorsese’s longtime casting director Ellen Lewis to find actors to play the plethora of Native parts.
