WhatsApp reports Reliance Annual Report: RIL retail opens 1,840 new stores in FY24
Reliance retail opened 1,840 new stores in FY24 even as it signed a host of deals with global companies, the conglomerate revealed in its annual report on Wednesday. The retail business of the oil-to-retail conglomerate registered an EBITDA of Rs 23,802, in FY24, recording a growth of 28.4% YoY. «The registered customer base crossed a milestone of 300 million, making Reliance Retail one of the most preferred retailers in the country,» the annual report stated. Further, the conglomerate said that the Retail division is set to broaden its offerings.

Odisha since August 6 with over 100 mm of rainfall recorded in at least 25 places, the IMD said on Wednesday. According to a report of India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Bhubaneswar centre, Banki in Cuttack district and Bhapur in Nayagarh district witnessed heavy rainfall of 317 mm and 210 mm, respectively, during the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Wednesday. Similarly, 17 places including Begunia and Bolagarh in Khurda district, Hindol in Dhenkanal, Binika and Birmaharajpur in Sonepur, Dabugaon and Tentulikhunti in Nabarangpur and Dharamgarh, Kesingha and Barla in Kalahandi district have recorded rainfall ranging from 121 to 196 mm during the period, the weather office said.

CBI) is probing Hindalco Industries Ltd (HIL) and a former director of the ministry of environment and forest (MoEF) in a corruption case. According to the first information report (FIR), CBI has booked the company, Dr T Chandini, the then director of MoEF, and unknown persons under certain sections of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act and Section 120 (B) pertaining to criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). «This is an old matter pertaining to 2014-15. These mines were de-allocated as part of the government's de-allocation process. This is a matter of public record where more than 100 mines were de-allocated,» a Hindalco spokesperson told ET.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 5,982.14 crore in the quarter ended on June 30, 2023, a regulatory filing showed. Total income rose to Rs 24,736.68 crore in the quarter from Rs 21,017.81 crore in the same period a year ago.
