Industry executives and analysts say Finland's Nokia and Sweden's Ericsson will now have to rely on fresh 4G and 5G gear supply deals with Vodafone Idea (Vi) to revive their plunging sales in India, and support global growth. On Thursday, Nokia posted a steep 68% Year-on-Year (YoY) fall in India net sales to ₹3,007.3 crore in Q2, 2024, while Sweden's Ericsson reported a 44% YoY slide in sales in its Southeast Asia, Oceania and India market to ₹6,093 crore approx) in Q2, 2024. Quant Mutual Fund has decreased its cash holding in June to 7.17% from 12.41% in May 2024. The fund house was sitting on a cash pile of around Rs 5,861 crore in June. The total equity AUM of the fund house was Rs 75,846 crore as of June 2024. It has around 21 equity mutual fund schemes. Of these, three had over Rs 500 crore cash in their portfolios. Quant Flexi Cap Fund had the highest cash allocation of Rs 867.93 crore in its portfolio in June against Rs 1,411 crore cash allocation in May. India is likely to cut the floor price for basmati rice exports and replace the 20% export tax on parboiled rice with a fixed duty on overseas shipments, government sources said, as rice inventories in the country jumped a record high. The world's biggest rice exporter imposed various curbs on exports in 2023 and continued them in 2024 in an effort to keep local prices in check ahead of the general elections held in April-May. New Delhi is expected to lower the basmati rice's minimum export price (MEP) to $800-$850 a metric ton, down from $950 a ton, to boost shipments, said the sources, who didn't wish to be identified as they are not authorised to talk to media.

IAS officer Puja Khedkar to record her statement regarding allegations of harassment against the Pune district collector, a senior officer said on Wednesday. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed to PTI that Khedkar has been asked to come to Pune to provide her statement. «I am not aware of any such complaint against me. No one communicated to me about this. So there is no question of giving a reaction. I came to know about this complaint only through media reports,» Pune district collector Suhas Diwase told PTI. Another official said correspondence by Pune Police asking Khedkar to record her statement was served to her at her temporary residence in Washim on Wednesday.
