According to a USA Today report, Argentinian players, after winning the 2024 Copa America finals, were recorded singing 'racist songs' against France while celebrating inside the team bus. France's footballing administration is currently claiming on issuing a lawsuit against the players who were seen in it, and to ask FIFA to get involved.
Why were Argentina players singing racist songs about France?
Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez was live-streaming the singing on his social media handle which showed the players lending their voices to a 'racist' sing about France. However, Fernandez was then yelled at for recording the video and was asked to stop immediately by the players, who had probably understood that it could create a major controversy.
However, it was too late, as fans had already taken snippets of it and the circulation of the clips simply went on until it created a controversy. Fernandez, later, issued an apology on his social media, saying that he was remorseful for the activities that took place during the national team's celebration and admitted that the video contained some offensive language that should not have been used in the first place.
