Celebrities not solely accountable for misleading ads: Parineeti Chopra
Celebrities endorsing products or services need to do their due diligence and educate themselves «to the best of their ability but can't be held solely accountable if, in rare cases, claims go wrong,» said actor Parineeti Chopra. The Golmaal Again and Mission Raniganj star was speaking to ET, after announcing expansion plans for personal care startup Clensta where she is an investor. «We associate with a product with that sense of responsibility. However, we are not creators of the product; we are here to put the word out, whether it is a food item or a shampoo,» she said.

CBIC working to weed out duplicate notices
As per an internal assessment, there are about 10,000 cases where taxpayers have received notices from both the central and state GST authorities. Courts have made adverse comments in many such cases of parallel investigations. The matter was discussed at a recent meeting of enforcement officials from the central and state GST departments, chaired by union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. «There are instances where both the Centre and states have issued notices or have started investigations in the same case. We are working on a detailed directive on that,» a senior official told ET.

Nvidia looks primed for a stock split after $1 trillion rally
Nvidia Corp’s scorching rally has added more than $1 trillion in value this year alone, sending it well above the level where it last split its shares. Some see the AI giant well placed to do so again. The company last announced a four-for-one stock split in May 2021, when it was trading at about $600 per share. Today, the stock is nearing the $1,000 level, extending last year’s 240% surge. While bulls argue that its valuation based on future earnings growth is relatively cheap, some potential investors may balk at the price.

Education loan moratorium can hike Rs7.5 lakh loan to over Rs 10lakh even before EMI repayment starts: Be careful
While some parents choose to pay the interest amount regularly during the study period, many other parents are unable to do so, and they primarily depend on a moratorium given with the education loan. A moratorium period allows them to push the repayment period by a few years, so that the student can get a job after completing the course and repay the loan herself or himself. While the moratorium period can ease the repayment burden for students and parents during the study period, it may come at the cost of a higher repayment burden for students if the education loans are not subsidised by the government.
