Delhi Police for allegedly stabbing his son, Gaurav Singhal, to death just hours before his scheduled wedding.Ranglal Singhal, the accused, confessed to committing the brutal act, driven by what he described as constant humiliation inflicted upon him by his son. Gaurav, aged 29, was attacked with a sharp weapon multiple times, sustaining 15 stab wounds to his face and chest at their residence in Devli Extension, South Delhi.
The incident occurred during the evening when preparations for Gaurav's wedding were underway.
Ranglal Singhal was apprehended in Jaipur, Rajasthan. According to police officials, the accused had meticulously planned the murder to coincide with a noisy period when celebrations and music from nearby festivities masked any sounds of struggle.
According to police officials, he remained unrepentant for his actions, displaying a lack of remorse even at the time of his arrest. Upon his apprehension, Singhal was found in possession of gold ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh and Rs 15 lakh in cash, which he had allegedly taken from the house before fleeing.
During interrogation, Singhal disclosed that a heated argument erupted between him and his son on the preceding night, leading to physical altercation wherein Gaurav slapped his father, according to police officials.
Enraged by this, Singhal retaliated by stabbing his son in the neck with a scissor, which escalated into a frenzied attack resulting in Gaurav's fatal injuries. Despite his injuries, Gaurav attempted to escape but was dragged back into the room by his assailant.
