Jayanth Varma, MPC's sole dissenter, on inflation, interest rate and MSP
Mint a day after the release of the MPC minutes, Varma said that he expects normalization of interest rates and that his views regarding a rate cut will remain unchanged even if there is the possibility of a hike in minimum support price (MSP) in future. He was the only MPC member to have voted for a rate cut in the February policy meeting. Edited excerpts I think that India has sufficient monetary autonomy to base its monetary actions on the needs of the domestic economy.

Jnana, Karma and Bhakti
Divine Light, illuminate my path!' From a spiritual perspective, when this resonates deeply within us, it leads to a transformative exploration of our sacred connections. In the 'Jnana Karma Sanyas Yog' chapter of the Bhagwad Gita, Krishn talks about the significance of faith — 'Shraddhavan labhate jnanam' — as the foundation for attaining spiritual wisdom. This faith blossoms through the interconnected paths of Karma, Jnana and Bhakti. Karma Yog encourages selfless action and guides us to act with a pure heart, driven by a purpose that uplifts ourselves and others. Jnana Yog invites introspection, urging us to dive into the vast ocean of spiritual knowledge, unravelling the profound nature of divine love, elevating it beyond the realm of the ordinary. Bhakti Yog, the path of devotion, transforms the conventional celebrations of love into a sacred pilgrimage of love. Here, heartfelt devotion and unwavering prayers occupy centre stage, acting as a bridge connecting us with the higher power. It allows us to express gratitude, seek guidance and find solace in the presence of something greater than ourselves.

India's new age non-alignment: NAl 2.0
diplomacy, India's path has been symbolic of its heritage — a nuanced tapestry woven with threads of traditional non-alignment (NAl) and contemporary multi-alignment. S Jaishankar's remarks at last week's Munich Security Conference offer a glimpse of India's diplomatic agility in the global power matrix. The concept of NAl is evolving. Today, it is less about a rigid absence from blocs and more about flexibility to engage on a spectrum of alignments that serve national interests. The essence of this strategic autonomy lies not in isolation but in the ability to manoeuvre across alliances and partnerships without being trapped by any. This new-age NAl — NAl 2.0, if you will — allows India to conduct transactions with Russia, a traditional partner, while deepening ties with Western powerhouses. Critics may view such an approach as opportunistic. But it is a testament to India's maturity and shrewdness. Admiration is due for a nation that can navigate complexities of IR while safeguarding its sovereignty and developmental agenda.

Elevation Capital says fintech companies building tailored products are finding takers
regulatory challenges imposing higher governance costs, procedural delays and hurdles in establishing partnerships with banks for fintech firms, such actions serve as a runway for them to build a scalable platform in the long run, said senior partners at early-stage venture capital investor firm Elevation Capital. “I think getting a regulatory clarity might make your task tougher because it adds governance and governance cost and it may make your task longer. But I think it provides a nice runway for you to scale and become a scalable platform,” Mridul Arora, partner at Elevation Capital, said.
