Zomato confirmed the approval by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on the name change of the company to Eternal Limited, with effect from March 20, 2025. «The name of the company, thus, stands amended to “Eternal Limited” with effect from March 20, 2025, and the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the company stands altered to the extent of the change of name of the company,» Zomato said in a regulatory filing. This follows the update earlier this month, where the shareholders of the Gurugram-based company had sought its shareholders’ nod to change the name of its parent entity to Eternal Ltd,ET reported.

Ram Sutar has been chosen for Maharashtra Bhushan, the state government's highest civilian award, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the legislative assembly on Thursday. Sutar, who turned 100 last month, is a Padma Bhushan awardee and has designed the Statue of Unity which is the world's tallest statue with a height of 182 metres. Fadnavis said the decision to honour Sutar with the highest civilian award of the state was taken unanimously by a committee headed by him on March 12. «He is a centenarian but is still working on the Ambedkar statue at the Indu mill memorial project in Mumbai,» he said. The award comprises Rs 25 lakh and a memento. Sutar, who works with his son Anil, has been associated with many major projects like the Statue of Unity, the 251-metre tall statue of Lord Ram at Ayodhya, 153-feet high statue of Lord Shiva in Bengaluru and a 100-feet tall statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj at Moshi in Pune.

IRCON International are set to be in focus on Tuesday after the company, in a joint venture with Badri Rai and Company, secured an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract worth Rs 1,096.17 crore from the Directorate of Urban Affairs, Government of Meghalaya. The project involves the construction of a new Secretariat Complex, including campus infrastructure, in New Shillong City. IRCON holds a 26% share in the joint venture, amounting to Rs 285 crore, while BRC holds the remaining 74%. The contract has a completion timeline of 36 months.

Over a virtual call from Jaipur, the 46-year-old Founder and CEO of Softserv Solutions talks animatedly about everything from being visible for the sake of his employees (more on that later) to his penchant for shooting and getting a pilot’s licence. Softserv Solutions is more than a template IT firm specialising in business automation. Established as a private limited company in 2012, the company also offers tailored barcode solutions for use cases such as warehousing, clinical research, and RFID tagging for jewellery and other products. Its 20,000 sq ft headquarters in Jaipur belies the fact that Softserv is a micro enterprise employing just over 60 people. As Pipersania puts it, “We are the richest company in the world.” And scale has little to do with it. Pipersania started out in the early aughts as a CCNA (short for Cisco Certified Network Associate) IT specialist who configured ATMs for state-run Bank of Baroda before moving to Nepal to automate financial processes for a cooperative bank in the country. Running on just three hours of sleep a night, he’d write programmes and shop them to local businesses that needed to automate their processes. Thereon, he hopscotched from one job to another across countries — in India for Electronic Data Systems, now an HP subsidiary, then the US’ largest health insurer, UnitedHealth Group.

NASA astronauts — Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore — who have been stuck in orbit for months. The newly arrived SpaceX crew that docked with the ISS was greeted by both humans and foreign faces. Crew-9 commander Nick Hague playfully wore a grey alien mask aboard the ISS while his crew awaited the arrival of astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov. As other crew members worked to prepare the capsule for deboarding, Hague was spotted on NASA’s live stream gliding through the space station in his mask and black hoodie, occasionally pausing to gesture toward something off-camera. He was in position, mask on, for the hugs, smiles and handshakes that greeted JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers from NASA, and Kirill Peskov from Roscosmos. In a post on X, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said it has been selected for the Digital Transformation Award 2025 by Central Banking, London, UK.

iDEX award from the Ministry of Defence. «In a major step towards strategic autonomy, Pravaig has won the prestigious iDEX Award for its VEER Electric Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle (E-TATV) — a cutting-edge, highly stealthy vehicle designed for forward patrolling, reconnaissance, and ISR operations,» Pravaig Dynamics said in a post on X. Atima Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pravaig, won the iDEX Award by the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), under the aegis of the Department of Defence Production in the Ministry of Defence, «for deepening India's sovereignty by building cutting-edge defence technologies and reinforcing the country's strategic autonomy.» The scheme for iDEX-Innovations for Defence Excellence was launched in May 2021 by DIO to foster innovation and technology development in the Defence sector. The mission is to build, own and operate India's defence technology. The award is considered the first step towards induction into Indian Defence Services. Pravaig said technology dependency on foreign entities proved to be an Achilles' heel for not just Ukraine, but even for India, as evidenced by the GPS denial by the US during the Kargil War.

IIFA Awards 2025 held in Jaipur on March 8-9 have become a flashpoint between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress. Opposition leader Tikaram Jully accused the state government of spending Rs 100 crore of public funds on the event, while development projects for temples like Khatu Shyam ji and Govind Dev temple were stalled.

Enforcement Directorate Thursday said it has found «multiple irregularities» in the operations of TASMAC that has monopoly over liquor trade in Tamil Nadu, including «manipulation» in the tender processes and «unaccounted» cash transactions worth Rs 1,000 crore through distillery companies. The federal agency claimed in a statement that it got «evidence» suggesting these corrupt practices after it raided the employees, corporate offices of distilleries and plants of the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC) on March 6. ED sources, on the day of the raids, had said the searches were also conducted against «key associates» linked to prohibition and excise department minister Senthil Balaji. The ED said it found «incriminating» data related to transfer postings, transport and bar licence tenders, indent orders «favouring» few distillery companies, excess charge of Rs 10-30 per bottle by TASMAC outlets, with the «involvement» of TASMAC officials, during the searches. It said this data shows «manipulation» in TASMAC's transport tender allocations where a «glaring» issue was the «mismatch» between the KYC details of the applicant and the demand draft (DD), suggesting that the final successful bidder did not even obtain the requisite DD before the application deadline. Tenders were awarded despite having only a single applicant in the final bid. TASMAC paid over Rs 100 crore annually to transporters, as per the ED.
