Anantnag District Administration is making comprehensive preparations for the pilgrims ahead of the Amarnath Yatra beginning on June 29. Earlier on Saturday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually attended the 'Pratham Puja' of Amarnath at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, marking the start of the annual Amarnath Yatra. tempo traveller in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district fell into a gorge on Saturday. As many as eight are feared dead and at least seven have been injured in the accident. Congress candidate Ujjwal Raman Singh on Tuesday secured a win on the Allahabad Lok Sabha seat ending the party's 40 years long dry patch when actor Amitabh Bachchan was elected. According to the Election Commission, Singh won the seat by a margin of 58,795 votes against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Neeraj Tripathi. Singh got a total of 4,62,145 votes, while Tripathi received 4,03,350 votes.

Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday won the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat by a margin of over 7.44 lakh votes, one of the highest in this election, bettering the figure of his 2019 victory. Shah defeated his nearest Congress rival Sonal Patel by a staggering margin of 744716, announced the Election Commission of India.

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and it will be taken back, Union home minister Amit Shah asserted on Wednesday. Shah said this while speaking at a rally in Serampore, West Bengal. On Wednesday, he addressed another rally at Aska in Odisha. PoK recently witnessed protests where the «azaadi» slogans were raised, Shah said in Serampore.

Patanjali Foods Q4 Results: Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Foods announced its January-March quarter results for fiscal 2023-24 (Q4FY24) on Tuesday, May 14, reporting a drop of 22 per cent in standalone net profit at ₹206.32 crore, compared to ₹263.71 crore in the corresponding period last year. Formerly known as Ruchi Soya Industries, the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) firm's revenue from operations in the fourth quarter of FY24 rose four per cent to ₹8,221 crore, compared to ₹7,873 crore reported in the year-ago period.

Rajya Sabha Harivansh on Saturday dispelled the opposition allegation that the BJP-led government would change the constitution if voted to power saying that the amount of work done in the last ten years to strengthen the constitution had never been done before. «Gandhi had said a person's work speaks for him… It is doubtful that the amount of work to strengthen the Constitution that has been done in this time was ever done before. When did the level of importance which has been given to Baba Ambedkar now accorded to him before? At the time, he did not even get a ticket from one of the most important political parties,» Harivansh said. «Someone should ask when did he (Baba Ambedkar) and Patel sahib receive the Bharat Ratna?» Harivansh added.

Jaishankar said in Amritsar on Friday that Indians have to pay a fee of USD 20 to visit Kartarpur Sahib, which was imposed by Pakistan, but no fee should be charged for it. Jaishankar said this during an interactive session in Amritsar. After attending the nomination filing of the BJP candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, on Friday, Jaishankar clarified that 'Kartarpur is not only in our hands.
