Amid Lawrence Bishnoi threats, Salman Khan buys bulletproof car from Dubai: Check price, features
Salman Khan is going all out on security after receiving multiple death threats. The ‘Dabangg’ star has reportedly invested in a brand new bulletproof car. Reports now suggest that the actor is going to great lengths to ensure his protection. According to Bollywood Society, Salman Khan has recently acquired a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV. Since this vehicle is not available in India, it is said that Khan is importing it from Dubai. The car, priced around Rs 2 crore, will reportedly incur additional costs for expedited delivery to India. Details about the car found online reveal that it comes equipped with cutting-edge security features, including sensors to detect explosives, reinforced glass capable of withstanding close-range gunfire and tinted black windows to conceal the identities of those inside. This is not the first time Salman Khan has made such a purchase; last year, he imported another bulletproof car from the UAE after receiving his first death threats from the Bishnoi gang, which also targeted his father, Salim Khan. For the unversed, the ‘Bodyguard’ actor has been a target of the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for quite some time now. Days after the murder of politician Baba Siddiqui (who was close to the star), he received fresh death threats.

Bishnoi gang hires hitmen with no criminal record
Baba Siddique and probe any possible involvement of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, officials said that the modus operandi of the Bishnoi gang is to engage youth with no criminal records while meeting between its associates and selection of a target is done inside jails as members of the gang are wanted by police across various states in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Mumbai. Bishnoi has been lodged in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad since 2023. «These gangsters engage their criminal network to lure unemployed youth, not only in Punjab but also from the neighbouring states by offering them either huge amounts of money or a promise of helping them settle abroad,» according to the NIA. For the killing of Siddique, police officials said the shooters were first timers. Early this year, the gang was behind the killing of INLD chief Nafee Singh Rathee and a Gurugram-based bookie Sachin Munjal. The money collected through extortion, illegal liquor and arms smuggling business is sent to Bhandari in Thailand through hawala for investing in night clubs and bars, according to the NIA.

Late S N Kalyani and Gaurishankar Kalyani (and his family) have been staying at their residence Parvti Nivas, when she made her will in 2012. Production of 'new will' gives fresh twist to Kalyani family feud
Gaurishankar Kalyani, brother of Baba Kalyani, has filed an affidavit in the Pune Civil Court challenging the execution of his late mother Sulochana Kalyani's 2012 will. Gaurishankar produced a new will dated December 9, 2022, containing several serious accusations against Baba Kalyani. In the affidavit, the late Sulochana reportedly wrote Baba had taken control of most of the family's wealth, leaving her and her husband, Neelkanth Kalyani, with a small portion. «Between 1992 and 1994, Baba seized control of several companies, including Bharat Forge and Kalyani Steels, from my husband. After 1994, we were left with only a small share of the wealth my husband had built,» affidavit states. Gaurishankar's affidavit responds to affidavits filed by Madan Takale and Shrikrishna Adivarekar seeking probate of Sulochana's 2012 will. The case is set to be heard in Pune on October 9, 2024.

Society doesn't like anybody breaking own family; have realised my mistake: Ajit Pawar
Ajit Pawar has said he experienced it and has already admitted his mistake, an apparent reference to the contest between his wife Sunetra and cousin Supriya Sule in the recent Lok Sabha polls. This is the second time in less than a month that NCP leader Pawar publicly admitted he had made a mistake by fielding his wife against NCP (SP) leader Sule, the daughter of his uncle Sharad Pawar, and noted politics should not enter the home. The «admission» of mistake came against the backdrop of poor performance by the NCP, one of the constituents of the Mahayuti alliance in the state, in its maiden general elections after a split in the party. Addressing the Jansamman rally organised by the NCP in Gadchiroli city on Friday, Ajit Pawar tried to discourage party leader and state minister Dharmarao Baba Aatram's daughter Bhagyashri from crossing over to the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP).

BSF seeks additional manpower for drone-affected Punjab border
BSF has sought the deployment of an additional battalion to check the onslaught of cross-border drones carrying drugs and ammunition and curb infiltration along the Punjab front of the India-Pakistan border. The force currently has about 20 battalions to guard the more than 500-kilometre-long front, out of which 18 are «actively deployed» at the border while the rest are mobilised in view of the requirements at the Attari integrated check post in Amritsar and the Kartarpur corridor at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district. The drone menace that started around 2019-20 along this front is dominant in the border districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran. One more Border Security Force (BSF) battalion has been sought to better secure the Punjab border, a senior officer told PTI.

No provision for creamy layers in SC/ST quota, says Centre
