Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to introduce the country's first metro corridor designed for operations with three-coach trains on the upcoming Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block route, officials said on Sunday. A part of Phase-IV of the Delhi Metro project, the corridor will span eight kilometer and be the second-smallest in the network, the DMRC said in a statement. The line aims to enhance last-mile connectivity and ensure seamless interchange with existing corridors, it said. Unlike other metro lines that operate with four, six or eight coaches, the new corridor will use 3-coach trains, developed specifically for short-distance urban travel, the statement said.

Wikipedia has been ordered to remove statements deemed defamatory by an Indian court from the page of a domestic news agency it hosts, the latest such directive to the popular online encyclopedia. The Wikimedia Foundation is the second major tech platform, following X, formerly Twitter, to become embroiled in recent years in court battles over content takedown orders in India. Last year the agency, ANI, sued Wikimedia for defamation in the Delhi High Court, citing a Wikipedia description that it faced criticism for being a government «propaganda tool» and sought removal of such statements.

In the last financial year (FY24), India exported about $33 billion worth of gems and jewellery, of which nearly $10 billion went to the US, according to official data. The new tariff would raise the current US import duty from around 6% to about 34%, making Indian products significantly more expensive for American buyers, said industry players. The Indian gems and jewellery sector is the country’s third-largest export to the US, after engineering and electronic goods. It employs millions of people, many of whom are involved in labour-intensive work such as diamond cutting, polishing, and jewellery crafting. India is also the global leader in diamond processing, handling about 90% of all cut and polished diamonds in the world.

Tulane University quarterback, TJ Finley, was arrested in New Orleans on charges of illegally possessing a stolen vehicle valued at more than $25,000. The 23-year-old, whose full name is Tyler Jamal Finley, was booked into jail before being released. As per the media reports, University police responded to a complaint about a truck blocking a driveway. Upon checking the vehicle’s license plate, officers discovered that it was registered as stolen in Atlanta. According to a Fox 8 live report, Finley arrived shortly after to move the truck and informed the police that he had recently purchased it. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 1.

Vedanta Ltd on Thursday reported record production figures across key business verticals for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, the company said in a regulatory filing. Vedanta achieved historic highs in aluminium and zinc production while also recording strong growth in iron ore, steel, oil and gas, and power sales. Annual aluminium production saw a 2% increase year-on-year, reaching 2,421 kt, while fourth-quarter output grew 1%.

Zerodha cofounder Nithin Kamath on Wednesday flagged the rise of digital arrest frauds in India over the past year, and the vast amounts of money being lost to scamsters. In a post on X, Kamath said, «Indians have lost over Rs 2000 crores to digital arrest frauds this year. These scams work by creating fear in people. They take advantage of people's tendency to make mistakes when they are afraid.»

Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation (MXCCL) has settled a case of securities law violation with market regulator Sebi by paying ₹2.7 crore as settlement amount. The regulator said MXCCL had filed a suo moto application with it proposing to settle a legal action that could be initiated against it for violation of risk management norms.

«Over the next four years, we aim to achieve Rs 1,000 crore in revenue by expanding our capabilities, diversifying our product portfolio in the appliances segment, and driving innovation through R&D,» Bajaj told PTI. The company, which operates two manufacturing units at Greater Noida, UP, had a revenue of Rs 409 crore for the financial year that ended on March 31, 2024 and expects to end the current fiscal year around Rs 470 crore.

To promote self-employment, financial assistance and guidance was provided to youth and women self-help groups under the Chief Minister's Self-Employment Scheme, Mudra Scheme and Startup Schemes. Farmers were made aware of information on agricultural schemes, grants and modern techniques, which could increase their productivity.
