UPS Citi Election WhatsApp show Lok Sabha elections: Caste, bread & butter factors competing with temple tide in Ayodhya
Ayodhya, for which this will be a historic Lok Sabha election being held after the inauguration of the Ram temple, caste and convenience matters are seen to be competing with the temple tide. BJP MP Lallu Singh is eyeing his third consecutive term from the seat, but it's the fielding of nine-time Dalit SP MLA from Sohawal and Milkipur constituencies Awadhesh Prasad, 78, which has made the contest a keen one with Dalits forming the largest singular voting bloc in the seat, likely to be aided by the prominent Muslim and Yadav population. However, the CPIM has also fielded Arvindsen Yadav, son of popular MP from Ayodhya, Mitrasen Yadav, who had represented CPI, SP and BSP in his three different tenures from the seat, and he could dent the SP's prospects. BSP has fielded Sacchidanand Pandey who could also complicate matters. PM Narendra Modi had held a roadshow here earlier this month. Talking about the entire population of the district, Faizabad, renamed as Ayodhya (but remains Faizabad Lok Sabha in EC registers) 'Ramrajya' is still many, many years away. One gets a sense of which direction the wind is blowing politically, depending on where one asks.

Indian Institute for Human Settlements, says the situation it describes, of the impact of high temperature and humidity, is a cause for concern in India. “As relative humidity increases, it will become harder for us to perspire and reject heat from our bodies.” In such situations, the only cooling technology that works is air conditioning, but less than 10% of Indian households have ACs, which, in turn, expel heat and contribute to warming. UPS Citi Provident Metro wellness information shock Free bus rides for women: PM lacks info on Metro finances, says Dy CM Shivakumar
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday said Karnataka's Shakti scheme providing for free bus rides for women has not led to any revenue loss for the Bangalore Metro, and he was shocked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments. “The Prime Minister lacks information on the Shakthi scheme and hence he has said that the scheme has impacted revenues of Bengaluru metro. Namma metro has earned a revenue of Rs 130 crore in the last one year. Footfalls too have gone up by 30% for the same period. Bengaluru metro is limited to Bengaluru, while Shakthi scheme has been rolled out across the State," he told the media in Bengaluru. The Dy CM was questioning the PM's assessment of metro finances. The PM, in a recent interview, had questioned the freebies that potentially create a crisis of funds for a state government. The governments, he said, would build metro networks in a city, but later promise free bus rides in the same city to win elections. This meant taking away 50% of passengers.
