SIBUR, Russia’s largest producer of plastics and rubbers, is collaborating with Indian businesses to process plastic waste. At the end of last year, EcoPartners, co-founded by the Indian entrepreneur Gaurav Sood, opened the largest plant in Russia for recycling plastic packaging waste. The plant has been gradually ramping up to its full capacity of 40 thousand tons per year. Called Total Cycle, the plantis located in the Tver region, which is between Moscow and St Petersburg – two major Russian cities that produce a large volume of waste. Total Cycle processes plastic packaging waste into secondary raw materials, including PET flakes.

Prices hit a record high of $560 last month after customs officials changed the calculation method for the 20% export duty, resulting in a higher levy. Demand from Asian buyers was subdued, which brought down prices from the last month's highs, said Himanshu Agarwal, executive director at Satyam Balajee, a leading exporter.

I came to the city leaving my village behind. I shifted to Ludhiana. He said ‘send him to the city with me’ and my parents said ‘Yes, take him.’ My parents did not even ask me..” he told Allahabadia. Dosanjh said that since the digital revolution had still not taken place, mobile phones were not prevalent and as he did not have money, he couldn’t call his family on a daily basis. “I used to stay alone in a small room. I used to just go to school and come back, there wasn’t any TV. I had a lot of time. Also, we didn’t have mobile phones back then, even if I had to call home or receive a call from my parents, it cost us money. So I started becoming distant from my family,” he reflected.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) Wednesday said its board will meet on April 6 to consider raising funds via a preferential share issue. The move comes after the cash-strapped telco's shareholders cleared a proposal to raise ₹20,000 crore through equity and equity-linked instruments, a move that would give a much needed lifeline to the cash-strapped telco. The meeting «is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 6th April 2024, inter-alia, to consider proposal for issuance of equity shares and/or convertible securities on a preferential basis,» Vi said in an exchange filing.
