arrested a 25-year-old YouTuber from Rajasthan, in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence. The youth, named Laturlal Gujar, reportedly threatened the ‘Dabangg’ star through a video named ‘Are Chhodo Yaar’. The video became viral on YouTube. Gujar was brought to Mumbai and produced before the city court. He is to remain in police custody till June 18. According to the Mumbai police, a complaint against Gujar was filed after the video went viral. Gujar is believed to have connections with gangsters Goldy Brar, Vivek Bhaiya, Rohit, and Jitin, who issued death threats to the ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ star. The video content was transcribed by the police officials. It reads, “Ram Ram mere sabhi Bhaiyo (Ram Ram all my brothers)… Brothers, we are all brothers now, Goldy is my brother, Nitin, Vivek, Rohit, and Jitin, they all are here and there are many more brothers.” The video further stated, “Our intention was clear, what we want and it was shared but he is not listening. His ego gets hurt. He has an attitude and he has an ego. He considers himself Dabangg King Khan.”

Nikhil Gupta, who is suspected by the US of involvement in an unsuccessful plot to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil, has been extradited from the Czech Republic, media reports said on Sunday. Gupta, aged 52, was apprehended in the Czech Republic last year following a request from the US government. He faces charges related to a conspiracy to assassinate Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Gupta is scheduled to appear before a federal court in New York on Monday. Currently, Gupta is held at the federal Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, where he is recorded as an inmate. His extradition was initially reported by The Washington Post

A US District Court judge has signed off the settlement two months after a jury found Terraform and Kwon civilly liable for fraud after the $40 billion collapse of the company and its ecosystem.The collapse happened after, in May 2022, the TerraUSD stablecoin was de-pegged from the US dollar, prompting it and Terraform’s other tokens to plummet to close to zero in value, leading to "devastating losses to countless investors," says the SEC.Terra's implosion also set off a series of devastating events for the crypto industry, causing the failure of crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital which, in turn, hit Genesis Global Capital and FTX.SEC Chair Gary Gensler says: “Terraform and Do Kwon’s fraudulent activities caused devastating losses for investors, in some cases wiping out entire life savings. Their fraud serves as a reminder that, when firms fail to comply with the law, investors get hurt."The judgement, to which Terraform and Kwon consented, includes $4.05 billion of disgorgement plus interest, and a $420 million civil fine for the company.

Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Satyendra Das Maharaj, was dissatisfied with the omission of important events of the Ayodhya movement in the newly revised Class 12 Political Science textbook of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) saying that there are several «shortcomings» in its presentation and it is «incomplete» in its narration. «There are some shortcomings in the NCERT textbook about the Babri Masjid issue. They do not mention how the three-domed structure was removed on December 6, 1992, they are only starting to narrate the issue from November 9, 2019, when the Ayodhya verdict was given,» Satyendra Das Maharaj said speaking to ANI. Notably, NCERT left Babri Masjid out, referring to it only as a «three-dome structure» in its revised Class 12th Political Science textbook. The revision pertains to Chapter 8, 'Recent Developments in Indian Politics'.

Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday assured action against National Testing Agency officials if they are found guilty of the «irregularities» in the conduct of 2024 National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate). The Minister added that the improvement in NTA, which conducts NEET exam, is needed. «On the recommendations of the Supreme Court, the order has been given for re-test of 1,563 candidates. Some irregularities have come to light in two places. I assure students and parents that the government has taken this seriously,» Pradhan told ANI.

Delhi High Court that smaller teams from their existing strength of five bomb disposal squads (BDS) and 18 bomb detection teams (BDT) can be formed to meet the requirement of more such units in case of an emergency. The Delhi Police said there are also 23 BDS/BDT units of the Central Armed Police Forces stationed in the national capital, which can be deployed after due approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It further said five batches of BDS/BDT, having 15 personnel in each batch, will also be trained in this regard.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal on Sunday said the new criminal laws will be introduced from July 1, dismissing opposition allegations of not being consulted before the decision was made. Meghwal said the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Evidence Act will be replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Act. He added that necessary training programmes and infrastructure development for implementing the new laws are already underway. «The three new laws will be implemented from July 1 for providing timely, speedy, and error-free justice,» Meghwal said during the inaugural session of 'India's Progressive Path in the Administration of Criminal Justice System' held here on Sunday.

And over the years, these copies have been purchased by many lawyers and judges, and also given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ram Nath Kovind when he became the President of India,» said Malik.

Delhi High Court on Saturday ordered to take down all videos or audios of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal address to the court from all social media platforms. A division bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna and Amit Sharma issued the order against several people for allegedly violating video conferencing rules. The order came after a public-interest litigation was filed before the court, TOI reported.

Over the years, several irregularities have been happening in NEET and the BJP government did not take note of it, the daily in an editorial on June 15 alleged. The irregularities and scams that happened in 'secret' so far in the conduct of NEET was held in 'open' this year. BJP president J P Nadda on Saturday formed a four-member committee to look into the alleged political violence in West Bengal, as the party accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of remaining a mute spectator. The committee includes Biplab Kumar Deb, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Brij Lal and Kavita Patidar, all BJP MPs, with Deb as its convener. Supreme Court seeking scrapping of the NEET-UG 2024 exam and an apex court-monitored probe by the CBI or any other independent agency into the alleged irregularities in the test held on May 5. The petition, filed by 20 students who had appeared for the medical entrance exam, has also sought a direction to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and others to conduct the test afresh. While hearing separate petitions raising grievances over the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate)-2024, the apex court on Friday had sought responses from the Centre and the NTA on a plea for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into allegations of question paper leak and other irregularities in the exam.

In the video, Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor, is seen addressing a trial court. A bench of justices Neena Bansal Krishna and Amit Sharma issued notices to six people, including Sunita Kejriwal, and social media intermediaries X, Meta and Youtube on a petition alleging violation of video conferencing rules of the Delhi High Court. The high court also directed the social media intermediaries to take down similar content if it is brought to their notice that it has been re-posted.
