Alexei Navalny has filed a lawsuit at a court in the Arctic city of Salekhard contesting officials’ refusal to release her son’s body, Russia’s state news agency Tass reported Wednesday. A closed-door hearing has been scheduled for March 4, the report said, quoting court officials.

irregularities in the February 8 polls, clearing the way for the formation of a coalition government to end the political uncertainty in the country. The apex court also imposed a fine on the petitioner, a former army officer, over his failure to appear before the court. Retired Brigadier Ali Khan last week urged the apex court to order new elections within 30 days to be held under the direct supervision and oversight of the judiciary «to ensure fairness, transparency and accountability». He had also sought a stay order to stop the formation of a new government till the case was decided.

Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner are officially divorced.The former couple — who for months have had the details of their contentious split publicized in the media — officially terminated their marriage on Friday, according to legal documents obtained by People magazine.Though their divorce was mostly settled in September, part of the final agreement determined both Costner, 69, and Baumgartner, 49, would be excused from attending a previously mandated co-parenting course.They will keep joint custody of their three children together: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 13.Baumgartner first filed for divorce in May 2023 after being married to Costner for 18 years. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for the divorce.In September, a representative for Costner told People that the divorce was “amicable.” The rep said Costner and Baumgartner reached a “mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings.”Costner has been married once before, to Cindy Silva.

Senior Advocate Fali S Nariman passes away at 95
Fali S Nariman passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 95. Nariman was a senior advocate of the Supreme Court and an eminent jurist. Awarded both the Padma Bhushan, in January 1991, and the Padma Vibhushan, in 2007, the veteran was a practicing lawyer for over seven decades. Nariman enrolled as an advocate of the Bombay High Court in November 1950, and was designated a senior advocate in 1961. In 1972, he was appointed Additional Solicitor General of India. In June 1975, he resigned from his post to protest against the decision of the Indira Gandhi government to declare emergency. For a decade, from 1991 to 2010, Nariman was the president of the Bar Association of India. In addition, he held various positions of note, including the vice-chairmanship of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) Paris, from 1989 to 2005, and the presidency of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration.
