With advanced autonomous capabilities and fully designed, developed and manufactured in India by Bon V Aero, the drone is engineered to tackle diverse logistical challenges, particularly in regions where traditional transportation methods are impractical, the company said. This launch underlines the growing role of Odisha-based companies in India's technology ecosystem and demonstrates how localised innovation is gaining national and international recognition, Bon V Aero said.

S Jaishankar on Monday called for «urgent» measures to address the issue of widening trade deficit between India and Russia. While India's exports to Russia stood at only USD 2.24 billion in April-August this fiscal, imports soared to USD 27.35 billion during the period. The trade deficit is aggregated at USD 25.11 billion. The high trade deficit is mainly on account crude imports. Russia emerged as India's biggest supplier of crude oil, which is converted into fuels like petrol and diesel in refineries, after Russian oil was available on discount following some European nations shunning purchases from Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea filed by political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party to postpone the Bihar by-elections scheduled to be held on November 13. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan said it was too late to interfere in the scheduled by-polls. Calling it a policy issue, the top court said courts shouldn't interfere in such matters and noted all arrangements had been made for the Bihar by-elections. «Other political parties do not have a problem. Only you have a problem. You are a new political party, you need to know these zig-zags,» remarked the bench.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which was set up in 1935, completed 90 years in April this year. Star India Private Limited, Viacom 18, Zee Entertainment Network Limited and Discovery Communications India were in the fray for «Production and distribution of Web Series Commemorating 90 years of RBI» after the central bank floated a Request for Proposal (RFP) in July. Any FPI investing in breach of the prescribed limit has the option of divesting their holdings or reclassifying such holdings as FDI subject to the conditions specified by the RBI and Sebi within five trading days from the date of settlement of the trades causing the breach. The RBI has issued an operational framework for reclassification of foreign portfolio investment by FPI to FDI.
