BJP) Jharkhand assembly election co-incharge and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday shared the expected seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections. Speaking at a press conference, Sarma stated that discussions with allies are ongoing. «As of now, All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will contest 10 seats, Janata Dal (United) will get 2 seats, and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will contest 1 seat,» he said. The BJP will field candidates for the remaining constituencies, Sarma added.

Bengaluru police have filed an FIR against Union Minister Pralhad Joshi's brother and sister based on a complaint of cheating lodged by a former JD(S) MLA's wife. His brother Gopal Joshi and sister Vijayalakshmi were booked by Basaweshwaranagar police. Gopal's son Ajay Joshi has also been named in the FIR, police sources said on Friday. The complaint was filed by Sunita Chavan, wife of former Nagthana MLA Devavand Phool Singh Chavan, who lost the 2023 Assembly election. She alleged that Gopal promised her to get a ticket to contest the May Lok Sabha elections when she approached him at his Hubballi residence in north Karnataka in March and later delivered Rs 25 lakh at Vijayalakshmi's house at Basaveshwaranagar here on his instruction.

Holland does not think there is anywhere to hide at the moment. One can only hide in a bit of cash. So, increasing cash levels for the next few months would not be a bad idea given that earnings are not going to help. We have got the US elections and geopolitical problems plus, China is expected to do another stimulus. All of that plays badly for India in the short term. Did you anticipate this kind of carnage on Bajaj Auto post its numbers? Andrew Holland: It was not the numbers per se, it was more the commentary, wasn’t it? Whilst the festive season has picked up a little bit, it is nowhere near anyone's expectations. So, it has really thrown a damper on the whole market because we are all hoping or the market was hoping that the festive season would start to see a pickup in consumption and that is clearly not likely to happen now. On top of that, we anyway expected a weak earning season across the board. The market valuations does not support downgrades whether it is a company or the sector or the market overall. If the earnings continue like this, we could see another 5% correction from here.
