New Delhi: India’s factory output growth slowed down to 3.7% in June from a 5.2% rise seen in May, and a 4.5% increase in April, due to weaker manufacturing growth, official data released on Friday showed. Index of Industrial Production (IIP), or the factory output growth, stood at 12.6% in June 2022, mainly due to a lower base effect. “The growth rates over corresponding period of previous year are to be interpreted considering the unusual circumstances on account of covid-19 pandemic since March 2020," said an official statement.

Whoever commits rape on a girl under 12 years of age shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than 20 years, but which may extend to imprisonment for life, which shall mean imprisonment for the remainder of that person's natural life, and with fine or with death. The bills introduced in Lok Sabha are Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Bill, 2023; Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) Bill, 2023; and Bharatiya Sakshya (BS) Bill, 2023 that will replace the Indian Penal Code, 1860, Criminal Procedure Act, 1898, and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 respectively.
