PMT is a fully owned subsidiary of the USA-based Phillips Corporation. “To obtain this license, you need to demonstrate capabilities, such as owning the necessary equipment and conducting R&D on it. India does not yet produce aerospace-grade titanium in the quantities or quality needed. For sectors like space and defence, this poses a significant challenge,” he said, adding that the company will incorporate it into its new 20,000 sq. ft facility in Chakan, Pune. PMT is working to source titanium from international markets, including the US and Germany, while also exploring regional exports to make it easier to procure.

Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), under the chairmanship Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for five capital acquisition proposals worth over Rs 21,772 crore on Tuesday. This included the procurement of Water Jet Fast Attack Crafts, Fast Interceptor Craft, Electronic Warfare Suite, Next Generation Radar Warning Receiver and Advanced Light Helicopters. DAC granted the approval for the procurement of 31 New Water Jet Fast Attack Crafts (NWJFACs) for the Indian Navy. These are designed to perform the task of low intensity maritime operations, surveillance, patrol, and search and rescue (SAR) operations close to the coast. In addition, these vessels will also play a role in anti-piracy missions, in and around India's island territories.

Dixon Technologies shares surged as much as 6.4% on Monday to Rs 16,819.45 on BSE after the electronics manufacturer said its wholly-owned unit, Padget Electronics, in partnership with Compal Smart Device India, has commenced mass production of Google Pixel smartphones. The company’s unit Padget Electronics is engaged in the business of manufacturing mobile phones and information technology (IT) hardware as its core business activity, and the said production of Google Pixel smartphones is set “to commence at the plant of Padget Electronics situated at Sector-68, Noida,” Dixon Technologies’ exchange filing said.

Sanjay Raut on Sunday said that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari must propose President's rule in the state because of the «mess» over the ongoing stalemate regarding Chief Minister post in Maharashtra. He reiterated his allegations against the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). «Governor should propose the President rule here because of the mess that has happened here. This is wrong. People are watching everything. People know how the elections were conducted, EVMs main kaisi gadbadi hui (how the EVMs were hampered). We are trying to create a national movement over this,» Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut told reporters. The senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader further said that the Eknath Shinde-led state government was against the constitution. The state government remained in power only because of the Supreme Court and former Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, Raut said, adding that the caretaker government in Maharashtra is also against the Constitution.

Ashish Kacholia's portfolio witnessed a 12% correction since the quarter ended September 2024. The portfolio value declined from Rs 3,498.5 crore at the end of Q2FY25 to Rs 3,078.9 crore as of 30th November 2024, according to data from Trendlyne. According to Salesforce, a software-as-a-service major tracking e-commerce activity in real-time, online shopping has seen a strong uptick in demand. As per Salesforce, the US holiday season which kicks off with Thanksgiving day generated $33.6 billion in sales online globally, increasing 6% on year. The US market alone was up 8% to $8.1 billion while Europe grew 10%. Adobe Analytics said US consumers had spent $7.9 billion online as of Friday afternoon, an increase of 8.2% over last year, with a projected final tally between $10.7 and $11 billion — an ecommerce record for Black Friday.

The Union Minister's remarks come amid a row sparked by Congress leader Bhai Jagtap's derogatory comments about the Election Commission of India (ECI) and its use of EVMs. Jagtap refused to apologise for his objectionable «kutta» remark directed at the ECI, accusing it of undermining democracy through «sycophancy.»

Dixon Technologies Friday said it has entered into an agreement with Taiwanese original design maker Compal Electronics to make Google Pixel devices in India, as the US major strives to gain a foothold in the world’s second largest smartphone market. Dixon becomes the second contract manufacturer for Google who had started making Pixel phones locally with Foxconn subsidiary Wow Tech at their Chennai facility. “This is a significant opportunity for Dixon and marks an exciting step in our growth and commitment to delivering cutting edge, high quality products to the global and domestic market,” Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman of Dixon Technologies said in a notice to the stock exchanges.
