For Musk's Starlink, India approval could unlock emerging markets
Starlink nears regulatory approval in India for satellite broadband services, analysts say a victory there could pave a road into more emerging markets and boost the company's ambitions to add a million subscribers every year. There are still legal hurdles to overcome, and competition from companies such as Eutelsat and China's SpaceSail, which is entering Brazil, Malaysia and Kazakhstan. SpaceX also argues that U.S. regulations put it at a disadvantage against foreign rivals. But a foothold in India would be a potential $25 billion boon for Starlink, helping it reshape that country's satellite broadband industry and making an attractive case to other developing markets, experts say.

SEBI’s move to ease compliance will attract smaller FPIs: Sunil Subramaniam
«When you come and buy, people know that, A) this fund is buying, this person is buying, and half the thing in the market in making money is to be surprised, it is the information asymmetry,» says Sunil Subramaniam, Market Expert. Can you just dissect this news for us, the fact that the threshold limit for FPI disclosure has gone from 25,000 to 50,000. How important is that? And will that really open a large window? Sunil Subramaniam: It is very important. And I will tell you, the reason for that is that when you are disclosing, you are giving out a lot of information in the market. And so, when you come and buy, people know that, A) this fund is buying, this person is buying, and half the thing in the market in making money is to be surprised, it is the information asymmetry.

Donald Trump, Elon Musk's sacking thousands of federal workers raises possible espionage, national security threats from Russia, China, claim experts
Elon Musk work to overhaul the federal government, they’re forcing out thousands of workers with insider knowledge and connections who now need a job, as per a report. For Russia, China and other adversaries, the upheaval in Washington as Musk's Department of Government Efficiency guts government agencies presents an unprecedented opportunity to recruit informants, national security and intelligence experts say, AP reported. Mass layoffs and resignations at the federal government are prompting concerns that a disgruntled former employee may seek to sell secrets to a foreign power. National security experts say that while the overwhelming majority of federal workers are conscientious patriots who would never sell out their country, it would only take one or two informants to cause a significant national security crisis. Counterespionage is a concern even when the federal workforce is stable. But in recent weeks President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have slashed thousands of jobs. National security and intelligence experts say Russia, China and other adversaries will seek to take advantage of the opportunity. “This information is highly valuable, and it shouldn’t be surprising that Russia and China and other organizations — criminal syndicates for instance — would be aggressively recruiting government employees,” said Theresa Payton, a former White House chief information officer under President George W. Bush, who now runs her own cybersecurity firm.

Gold price prediction for April: Gold rate may go up further next month, claim experts
Gold price could hit the $3,100-mark in coming days even though rates were steady on Monday, underpinned by a weaker U.S. dollar and uncertainty around U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff plans, as per a report. Spot gold was at $3,024.39 an ounce at 1000 (GMT). U.S. gold futures edged 0.3 per cent higher to $3,029.50. «A modestly weaker dollar is probably giving gold a little bit of a tailwind at present,» said Ross Norman, an independent analyst, Reuters reported. The U.S. dollar was down 0.1 per cent against a basket of other major currencies on Monday, but around 3.4 per cent lower so far this month, making gold less expensive for foreign buyers. All Eyes on April 2 Announcements by Donald Trump U.S. President Donald Trump hinted on Friday that there would be some flexibility regarding reciprocal tariffs that are set to take effect on April 2 and are expected to drive inflation and hinder economic growth.

Jack Ma-backed Ant touts AI breakthrough built on Chinese chips
AI models that would cut costs by 20%, according to people familiar with the matter. Ant used domestic chips, including from affiliate Alibaba and Huawei Technologies, to train models using the so-called Mixture of Experts machine learning approach, the people said. It got results similar to those from Nvidia Corp. chips like the H800, they said, asking not to be named as the information isn’t public. Ant is still using Nvidia for AI development but is now relying mostly on alternatives including from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Chinese chips for its latest models, one of the people said. The models mark Ant’s entry into a race between Chinese and US companies that’s accelerated since DeepSeek demonstrated how capable models can be trained for far less than the billions invested by OpenAI and Alphabet Inc.’s Google. It underscores how Chinese companies are trying to use local alternatives to the most advanced Nvidia semiconductors. While not the most advanced, the H800 is a relatively powerful processor and currently barred by the US from China.

Market rebound mostly led by DIIs; betting on BFSI and consumer discretionary stocks: Sunil Subramaniam
Sunil Subramaniam, Market Expert, says that though FIIs have started coming back, the market bounce-back is being led by DIIs as they have been sitting on Rs 2.5 lakh crore cash in the broad market and they are now looking to reverse the trade. Plus the Rs 100,000 crore Budget bonanza via tax cuts would also kick in. Subramaniam says rate sensitives and hence BFSI and consumer discretionary stocks are the right picks at this time. What are you making of this steady climb that the markets have seen? The Nifty alone has recovered about almost 1,000 to 1,200 points from the recent lows? Sunil Subramaniam: Though FIIs are coming back slowly, I still think it is the DII action which is driving the markets because as I have said before, there is a huge pileup of cash, almost about Rs 2.5 lakh crores with DIIs there and that money is a broad market money. It is not just largecaps, it is large, mid, and small. As the fund houses had generated cash by selling small and midcap stocks, used part of it to buy largecaps and hence the fall in largecaps is not so much, they are essentially now looking at reversing the trade.

Cash at home case: Legal experts praise CJI's decision to put documents in public domain
Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna's decision to put crucial documents relating to a controversy surrounding alleged discovery of cash from Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Varma's residence in the public domain and constituting an in-house committee to further inquire into the matter. While senior advocate Sanjay Hegde said the CJI must be commended for enforcing openness and putting things out in the public domain, senior lawyer Indira Jaising expressed satisfaction over the setting up of the in-house inquiry panel and said people should wait for its outcome. Saluting the wisdom of the CJI and other members of the Supreme Court collegium for releasing the inquiry report of Delhi High Court Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya, senior advocate Adish C Aggarwala said, «Let the in-house committee make an independent inquiry and submit the report to the chief justice of India for taking appropriate decisions.» Hegde, who described a video of the purported currency-discovery incident as «deeply distressing», said irrespective of the question of innocence or guilt of the judge concerned, the very fact that so much money is ostensibly being seen burnt in proximity to his house raises many questions. «It also tends to lower the image of the judiciary. Irrespective of the question of guilt or innocence, I think a full inquiry and corrective action is required. The chief justice of India must be commended for enforcing openness and putting things out in the public domain.

Russia-Ukraine war to end soon? Here are key talks that may determine a possible ceasefire
The meeting will precede talks between the U.S. and Russian delegations which are scheduled for Monday. The meetings follow a series of talks held in Saudi Arabia, first between the U.S. and Russia, and then later between the U.S. and Ukraine, when Kyiv accepted a 30-day truce proposal. The Ukrainian delegation at Sunday's meeting will be led by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy earlier said this fact would allow Kyiv to act in a «very quick and very substantive» way. However, Ukrainian officials have said they still see Sunday's meeting in Riyadh as purely technical.
