In the 2000s, she took on a few roles before landing her part in True Blood as Dr. Patricia Ludwig. In the series, her character treated ailments afflicting supernatural beings and made appearances in three episodes across the second, fourth and seventh seasons. Her final scene saw her fleeing at the mention of Niall Brigant's name. In The Disappointments Room, de Rousse portrayed a local historian, who shared unsettling information with Dana (Kate Beckinsale), the buyer of the Blacker Estate. She revealed that the house's previous occupants had a hidden «disappointments room» in the attic—a place where affluent families would heartlessly confine their physically challenged or deformed children.
