RBI Floating Rate Savings Bond offers 8.1% interest now: How is it calculated? A whopping interest rate of 8.1 per cent may look attractive but do keep in mind that the interest of RBI Floating Rate Savings Bond (FRSB) is not fixed. It is linked to the interest rate of the National Savings Scheme (NSC), a small savings scheme backed by the Union government. Going by the formula, RBI Floating Rate Savings Bond will pay 0.35 per cent more than what the NSC offers.

UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security has made the extension of visit visas for relatives or friends easier. Holders of visit visas, valid for 30, 60, or 90 days, now have the option to extend their visas on an app for an additional 30 days by paying a fee of Dh750. Applicants can use the smart app UAEICP to apply. The visitors need to be present in the country during the application and possess a passport that is valid for at least six months. The required documents for the extension include the original entry permit and a colored personal photo that meets the approved standards. Applications that are returned due to missing information or incomplete documents will be electronically rejected after a period of 30 days. If an application is rejected three times, it will be permanently rejected. In case of rejection, the refund will only cover the issuance fees and any financial guarantees provided.

National Highway (NH-7) in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district has been blocked due to heavy rainfall causing boulders and debris to fall from the hills onto the highway near Pipalkoti, according to officials on July 13 morning. Landslides triggered by the continuous rains have also affected several other areas along the same highway, including Pagal Nala, Gulabkoti and Helang, ANI reported. As an intense spell of monsoon rain continued over the northwestern Himalayan region numerous roads were blocked and several people were stuck due to landslides.

Antony Blinken will meet top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi on Thursday as officials gather in Indonesia for ASEAN meetings, the State Department said in announcing the latest in series of interactions between the rival superpowers. Wang is representing China at the Jakarta meetings involving the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and partner countries after Beijing said Foreign Minister Qin Gang would not attend due to health reasons. Walt Disney's board on Wednesday extended Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger's contract by two years as the experienced leader who came out of retirement in 2022 battles long-term challenges to its film and television businesses. The board said in a statement that it aimed to maintain «continuity of leadership during the company's ongoing transformation.» Iger returned to Disney as CEO in November 2022, less than a year after he retired, vowing to stay for two more years to restore the business while seeking a more durable replacement after the company pushed out Bob Chapek, Iger's hand-picked successor. «There is more to accomplish before this transformative work is complete,» Iger said in a statement, adding that the board was continuing to interview internal and external CEO candidates.

HCLTech will acquire a 100% stake in German automotive engineering services provider ASAP Group for €251 million and the transaction is expected to close by September 2023 subject to regulatory approvals, the IT major informed the stock exchanges on Thursday. India’s consumer price index (CPI) inflation rose for the first time in five months to 4.81% in June 2023, which was higher than the street's expectations of 4.58%.
