No peace in Manipur at gunpoint, urge PM to visit state: Gaurav Gogoi
Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday said the Centre has failed to bring peace at gunpoint in Manipur and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the state and listen to the apprehensions and concerns of the people. Initiating a discussion on the supplementary demands for grants, excess grants and the Manipur budget, he asserted that peace cannot be restored in the northeastern state at the barrel of gun and only a political solution was the way out. Gogoi, the Deputy Leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha, said the Manipur budget should have been discussed in the state assembly, but President's Rule has been imposed in the state. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should apprise the House about the rationale for imposition of President's Rule in the state. «What is the state of Vidhan Sabha in the state — is it dissolved or in suspended animation,» the Congress leader sought to know. BJP members, including Nishikant Dubey, objected to Gogoi's extensive reference to the situation in Manipur and cited rules to point out that the Congress leader should stick to the demands for grants and the state budget.

Hyderabad’s peripheral real estate markets poised for transformative growth amid infrastructure growth
While established hotspots in West and Central Hyderabad continue to drive real estate activity, peripheral areas—including the North, South, East, and West peripheries—are projected to account for 12-15% of Hyderabad’s Grade A office stock and 5-10% of annual office space demand in the next 3-5 years, according to Colliers’ latest report, ‘Hyderabad: Emerging Real Estate Growth Hotspots’. The residential market is also set to witness significant traction, with property prices in these peripheral areas expected to rise by 10-20% over the same period. “Hyderabad’s office market continues to mature, driving one-fifth of the demand and over one-fourth of the new supply across the top six cities in India during 2024. The city’s peripheral areas are set to enter a transformative growth phase, fueled by upcoming infrastructure projects and supportive government policies. The West Periphery micro-market, particularly areas like Kokapet, Neopolis, and Narsingi, is likely to witness heightened commercial activity, driven by price arbitrage compared to established IT hubs of Gachibowli and HITEC City, along with enhancements in metro connectivity,” said Arpit Mehrotra, Managing Director, Office Services, Colliers India.

India has world's strongest hiring outlook in June qtr
Corporate hiring sentiments for the June quarter rose three percentage points compared to the January-March 2025 quarter, seven percentage points more than the corresponding quarter last year, and 18 percentage points higher than the global average of 25%, found the latest edition of the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey shared exclusively with ET. About 55% of 3,150 Indian employers asked about their hiring plans for the June quarter said they would hire more people; 12% expected a decrease in hiring intent or had no plans to backfill; 29% did not expect any change in their workforce, and 4% were unsure. This puts the net employment outlook (NEO) — a bellwether of labour market trends — at 43%, the difference between companies looking to hire and those expecting a fall in headcount or hiring numbers.

Uproar in J&K assembly over Kathua deaths
The LG administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident, but locals have demanded action against the police officials and setting up of Village Defence Guards (VDG) in the area. The VDG, formerly known as Village Defence Committee, is a civilian militia first established in the mid-1990s in Chenab Valley of Jammu division to counter the militancy in remote hilly villages along the Line of Control. The districts of Kathua, Samba, Doda and Kishtwar in Jammu, which were peaceful for two decades, have reported several militant incidents over the past two years. During the ongoing budget session of J&K assembly, the legislators protested against the deaths and demanded swift action. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident and it cannot be debated further in the assembly. «I spoke with home minister sahib for the past three days and he is continuously monitoring the situation. He told me that Union home secretary and Director Intelligence Bureau was sent to assess the situation on ground,» leader of the BJP in J&K assembly Sunil Sharma informed the House. J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah informed the House that it was interesting to note that police allowed BJP leaders to visit the spot but did not allow the deputy CM from the ruling National Conference to visit Billawar citing the «sensitive situation» at the spot.

Techie stunned as hiring manager calls her 3-year job switch unacceptable. What happened in the interview
During the interview, she explained the reasoning behind her career transitions. Her first job, at a service-based company, became repetitive after three years, leaving her with limited growth opportunities. The second company she joined underwent an acquisition, which led to widespread layoffs, prompting her to leave after nearly three years. In her current role, the work did not align with her long-term career goals. When she requested an internal transfer to a project better suited to her skills, she was informed that she would need to stay for at least 2.5 years before becoming eligible. With no immediate path to advancement, she started exploring external opportunities. However, the hiring manager was unimpressed. He was particularly dissatisfied with her response about long-term goals. When she mentioned her aspiration to become an Architect to gain a deeper understanding of projects, he questioned why she wasn’t more focused on customer satisfaction. She explained that delivering high-quality work would naturally result in satisfied customers, but her answer was dismissed as being too tech-oriented. Feeling caught between justifying her career decisions and meeting the hiring manager’s expectations, she wondered if she needed to change her approach in interviews.
