security Strategy Discover singer reports Investigations Has Airbnb failed to protect guests from concealed cameras in bathrooms and bedrooms?
Airbnb has come under intense criticism for how it has handled situations involving hidden cameras. The business needs to do more to safeguard its visitors, even though it has known about the problem for years. When visitors report concealed cameras, Airbnb resolves disputes amicably without involving the police. This strategy may impede criminal investigations by allowing hosts to obliterate evidence. A CNN investigation claims that over the past ten years, Airbnb has handled tens of thousands of customer support calls about concealed cameras. These cameras, which have been discovered in bathrooms and bedrooms, are meant to record visitors at private times such as getting dressed or spending time with their kids. Victims worry that their intimate moments might be revealed online and result in long-term suffering.
