Nobel Prize winner Geoffrey Hinton and chemistry laureate Demis Hassabis on Saturday insisted on a need for strong regulation of artificial intelligence, which played a key role in their awards. «AI is a very important technology to regulate but I think it's very important that we get the regulations right and I think that's the hard thing at the moment is it's such a fast moving technology,» Hassabis told a news conference in Stockholm. Hassabis, who jointly won with Americans David Baker and John Jumper for revealing the secrets of proteins through AI, said such evolutionary speed posed a giant challenge.

A two-member bench granted them a week to file it and also directed the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to decide it within three weeks thereafter. Moreover, the status quo would continue as directed by the Supreme Court in this matter, a 14-page-long NCLAT order said.

PNB Housing Finance aims to expand its loan book size to Rs 5,000 crore by the end of the current financial year. The mortgage lender closed the loan book under the affordable segment called 'Roshini' at Rs 3,000 crore at the end of the second quarter of FY'25. «We hope to expand our loan look under the affordable housing segment to Rs 5,000 crore by this year-end to touch Rs 15,000 crore by March 2027,» PNB Housing Finance MD and CEO Girish Kousgi told reporters here. The rating agency has upgraded the corporate family rating of the company from B3 to B2. Moody's has also upgraded the rating on the senior unsecured bonds issued by Vedanta Resources to B3 from Caa1. «The rating upgrade follows VRL's successful liabilities management exercises, with the company raising USD 800 million in its second bond issuance since September 2024,» Nidhi Dhruv, Moody's Ratings Vice President and Senior Credit Officer said.
