But tax breaks proposed by Portugal's government for young workers — up to a temporary 100% income tax exemption in some cases — plus help with housing are making him think twice. «Previous governments left young people behind,» said Monteiro, 23, who is studying engineering and industrial management at the Higher Technical Institute in the Portuguese capital. «The country needs us and we want to stay but we need to see signs from the government that they are implementing policies that will help.»

This shift follows Musk's influential role in the US presidential election. Bluesky's user base has doubled in 90 days, reaching 15 million after gaining 1 million new sign-ups in a single week.

Shami makes quiet comeback as Bengal struggle vs MP
Mohammed Shami returned wicket-less from his 10 overs in a subdued comeback to competitive cricket after 360 days as Bengal struggled in their Ranji Trophy Group C game against Madhya Pradesh here on Wednesday. Electing to field first, MP were 103/1 at stumps after bowling out Bengal for 228 in their first innings. The visitors need an outright win to keep their slim quarterfinal hopes alive. Bengal's attack is depleted by injuries to Ishan Porel and Rishav Vivek, while Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep are on national duty. All eyes are now on Shami to not only prove his fitness but also rejuvenate his state team's campaign. Bowling on the Holkar Stadium green-top, the 34-year-old Shami, who was sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury on his left leg for which he underwent a surgery, returned figures of 10-1-34-0.

I’m not a Nice Person: Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson is not a nice guy, and he is not at peace. Those are his words. The words of a former world heavyweight champion. The words of a brutal fighter once proclaimed (fairly) as the “baddest man on the planet”. The words of a fighter who chewed a chunk out of an opponent’s ear. The words of a father, husband, podcaster and convicted criminal. There was a time when Tyson was a simple being – 40 years ago, perhaps. So purely violent and destructive was the boxer that he was arguably as one-dimensional as he was single-minded. Nowadays, things are more complicated. The American, who still holds the record for being boxing’s youngest-ever world heavyweight champion, is older now. The 58-year-old did his time in prison — from 1992 to 1995 after being convicted of rape, plus nine months in 1999 for assaulting two motorists — and served his ban for biting into Evander Holyfield’s ear. Despite his troubled past, Tyson is loved by many boxing fans for the memories he gave them during his prime; he’s treasured for the sense of wonderment he drilled through their TV screens and into their living rooms with vicious, merciless strikes in the 80s and 90s. Punches that altered the lives of Tyson’s opponents and audiences, in different ways.

'Wait & watch': India gearing up for any change in US policy, says CEA V Anantha Nageswaran
Trump’s return to the White House, chief economic adviser (CEA) V Anantha Nageswaran said on Wednesday, cautioning against any “kneejerk reaction” to the current bout of stock market volatility. The CEA was in conversation with economist Prachi Mishra at the ET India Ascends event. While capital has flooded into the US markets over the past week in the aftermath of Trump’s victory, “I'm not entirely sure that this will sustain over a very long term,” he said. “Because even before this election happened, US stocks were somewhat elevated in valuation, etc., and the Federal Reserve is cutting interest rates. So I think we can give some time for the financial markets to take a breath….”

Article 370 won't be restored, says Amit Shah
Amit Shah on Wednesday said that even if former prime minister Indira Gandhi comes from heaven, Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir will not be restored. Even four generations of Rahul Gandhi won't be able to give reservation to Muslims, he added. "Congress has done appeasement their entire life. Isn't Kashmir ours? Didn't Modi do good by removing Article 370? Congress has now passed a resolution that they want Article 370 back. I want to tell them that even if Indira Gandhi comes down from heaven, she will not be able to bring back Article 370," Shah said while speaking at a campaign rally in Dhule.

Baku climate meet returns to big question: Who pays?
Late evening on Wednesday, countries approached Zaheer Fakir of the UAE and Fiona Gilbert of Australia, co-chairs appointed by the COP29 UN Climate Conference presidency to resolve technical differences and finalise a draft text for ministerial consideration, to «streamline» a 34-page draft that had been prepared overnight after the developing country bloc G77 and China rejected a seven-page framework that the co-chairs had prepared earlier. With this all options are back on the table. Developing countries are clear that the new climate finance goal, the successor to the $100 billion plan, must be about rich industrialised countries providing the funding. Developing countries said any text that proposes shifting the burden of providing climate finance to them was unacceptable.
