The 29-year-old preacher, known for her teachings on devotion and simplicity has said that she has never advised anybody to renounce anything. She said that she is just a normal girl, living a normal life. A controversy had erupted after she was recently spotted at an airport with the high-end handbag, sparking debate among her followers. The luxury item, recognized as a Dior Book Tote, features a cotton exterior and is allegedly lined with calfskin, details that have fueled backlash given Kishori's messages of non-materialism and detachment. Critics expressed confusion over the apparent contradiction between her expensive tastes and her spiritual teachings. In her defense, Kishori stated, «The bag is a customized piece. There is no leather in it, and the customization means it can be made according to personal wishes. My name is also engraved on it. I have never used leather, nor will I ever.» She further emphasized, «I have never advised anyone to renounce anything. I have not renounced anything myself, so how could I suggest that to others? I am clear from day one that I am not a saint, sadhu, or sadhvi. I am a normal girl, living in a regular house with my family. I encourage the youth to work hard, earn money, and give themselves and their families a good life.»

Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd in Tamil Nadu has reached a milestone of producing over 45 lakh powertrain units since commencing operation in 2010, the company said. The 600 acre facility at Oragadam near here, caters to domestic and overseas market requirements for Renault and Nissan. Since the start of production, the factory produces Renault and Nissan brand of cars with over 2.75 million cars being produced till date, while the plant has produced seven different type of engines and three varieties of gearboxes. The milestone of producing over 4.5 million powertrain units at the factory includes 2.83 million engines and 1.67 million gearboxes, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Bharti Airtel’s revenue growth was higher than larger rival Reliance Jio’s which lost 11 million subscribers, analysts said, indicating a higher resilience from the nation’s second largest telecom operator. Cashfree Payments on Tuesday said it has received the Prepaid Payment Instrument (PPI) licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). With the PPI licence, the Bengaluru-based payment aggregator can offer digital payment solutions such as mobile wallets, prepaid cards and vouchers, which customers can load with funds and use for transactions. “The PPI licence opens up a new field of opportunity for innovation in the payments landscape. Our focus has always been to provide secure, flexible and efficient payment experiences to Indian businesses as well as their customers. The PPI licence will help us build offerings that let internet businesses retain and grow their user base,” said Akash Sinha, CEO and cofounder, Cashfree Payments.

Vridhi Home Finance has secured Rs 310 crore in equity funding from Norwest Venture Partners along with its existing investor Elevation Capital and the company’s founders. It comes after the company raised $18 million from Elevation Capital in its first institutional fundraising in October 2023. In a statement on Tuesday, Vridhi Home Finance said that it is investing in building a strong distribution network, in risk management practices and in its technology back end to create a digital home loan process.

Uttarakhand High Court has issued a contempt notice to Dr Vivek Joshi, Secretary Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for allegedly defying its order over the empanelment of an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer with the Centre. Justice Alok Kumar Verma issued the notice to the DoPT on October 23 on a plea filed by IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi who alleged a wilful defiance of the court's order on his empanelment. A division bench of the high court had directed the Central government in September to provide Chaturvedi with his empanelment documents as a joint secretary (JS). He had moved the high court after the Central government passed an order saying the «appointment committee of cabinet had not approved» his empanelment for «holding the post of JS or equivalent at the Centre».

Israeli strike on a five-story building where displaced Palestinians were sheltering in the northern Gaza Strip killed at least 34 people early Tuesday, more than half of them women and children, Gaza's Health Ministry said. In a separate development, Lebanon's militant group Hezbollah said it has chosen Sheikh Naim Kassem as its new top leader following the killing of Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike last month. The group said in a statement that Hezbollah's decision-making Shura Council elected Kassem, who had been Nasrallah's deputy leader for over three decades, as the new secretary-general. Mahagenco and public sector NTPC has emerged as the top bidder to take over the 1,350 MW Sinnar Thermal Power plant near Nashik. Mahagenco's bid of Rs 3,800 crore is above the second-placed Adani Power in the initial round of bids. Lenders are evaluating legal and other compliances of the bidders, following which negotiations with individual bidders will start, said people familiar with the process. «The early bids put the Mahagenco-NTPC partnership at the top. The second-placed bidder is behind as its bid is less than Rs 3,000 crore. But the plans are still at the initial stage and we could see revisions since all parties interested are serious players in this sector,» said a person familiar with the process. Resolution professional (RP) Rahul Jindal did not reply to an email seeking comment.
