Best large & mid cap funds to invest in March 2025
mutual funds invest most of their corpus in the large and mid cap stocks. As per the Sebi mandate, these schemes are open-ended equity schemes that invest a minimum of 35% of total assets in large cap companies, and a minimum of 35% of total assets in mid cap stocks. However, this definition does not tell the whole story about the large & mid cap category. Consider this: The 35% mandatory investments in mid cap stocks make them risky. However, they are less risky than pure mid cap schemes that invest around 65% in mid cap stocks. Also, the 35% investments in large cap investments offer them some stability. But they are riskier than pure large cap schemes. Then there is the question of the remaining 30% of the corpus. The fund manager has the option to decide where the money will be invested. If he thinks the large cap space is attractive, he may invest in large cap stocks. If he thinks mid cap and small cap stocks are poised to take off, he may invest in them. As you can see, these investments may increase or decrease the risk in these schemes.

Earthquake of magnitude 4.0 jolts Afghanistan
National Center for Seismology (NCS) said. As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks. In a post on X, the NCS said, «EQ of M: 4.0, On: 10/03/2025 07:01:10 IST, Lat: 36.97 N, Long: 73.14 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan.» Shallow earthquakes like this one are more dangerous than deeper ones due to their greater energy release closer to the Earth's surface, causing stronger ground shaking and increased damage to structures and casualties, compared to deeper earthquakes, which lose energy as they travel to the surface.

AGS Transact's troubles hurt many banks' ATM operations
State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank are facing challenges in servicing about 38,000 ATMs, many of which are running out of cash, people in the know said. SBI is the most affected, with nearly 14,000 ATMs becoming unserviceable, people in the know said. While 7,000-8,000 of those are managed by AGS Transact, there remaining are where the company provides cash replenishment services. ICICI Bank, one of the earliest banks to start withdrawing its ATMs from the AGS Transact network after facing service issues, is close to taking control of its ATMs. The private sector bank has moved out a majority of its ATMs to other ATM service providers like CMS Infosystems and Hitachi India. People aware of the issue said the lender had raised poor service issues with the AGS Transact board in December itself.
