Humans living in 'The Matrix' style simulation? Scientist claims to have shocking evidence
Melvin Vospon, a scientist from Portsmouth has sent the world reeling upon claiming to have some surprising evidence that human lives are actually in a simulation just like The Matrix movie. He claims that the universe is an adaptation and inspiration from the 1999 movie and refers to the universe around us as a digital copy and not an actual scenario. The scientist has previously, too, referred to various science fiction scenarios and related them to the current human culture. Vospon also claims that he is among the rare few who have thought about this concept.

Rahul Sharma’s has 2 PSU bets for the May series. Here's why
Rahul Sharma, Director & Head — Technical & Derivatives Research, JM Financial Services, says “there are two PSU stocks which we are very confident on. One is from the PSU banking space. The Bank of Baroda looks pretty strong at these levels. We feel there is a strong case for a target of Rs 285-295 on the upside, the PSU banking index has turned around, so can be bought with a stop loss of Rs 251. Another stock which looks good on the power side, Power Finance Corporation (PFC). The stock has been quiet for many weeks now and we feel the time is right for the stock to give an up move, so can be bought with a stop loss of Rs 394 and an initial target of Rs 425.” Today’s the day of the monthly expiry. Should we brace ourselves for a 3 pm move? Rahul Sharma: Yes, it has been quite a subdued one so far. But the good thing is the mid-month crash got over last week. Post that, we have seen a very smart recovery. Now, we are heading on to the main series, which has historically been a very positive month out of like 10 times Nifty has been in the green 7 times in the last decade and at the same time we have also seen ultra-low levels on the India VIX which is suggesting that the option participants are not fearful of like a big down move at this point in time.

Fuel Inflation impacts core more than food: Report
core inflation is higher than that of food inflation and the response of core inflation to fuel price shock becomes significant and large during global uncertainties, said a research paper by RBI economists. Food inflation is better anchored since the central bank moved to flexible inflation targeting as its policy goal, the paper said. The paper assessed the degree and duration of the potential second-round effects of food and fuel price shocks on headline inflation. " Our analysis suggests that headline inflation reverts to core inflation and not vice versa. While there has been a decline in the volatility of fuel inflation, its impact on core inflation has turned significant of late" said Harendra Kumar Behera and Abhishek Ranjan from the Reserve Bank's department of Economic and Policy Research. The views are however those of the authors. The article tried to estimate the impact of food and fuel inflation shocks on core inflation to assess second-round effects as it helps to assess whether monetary policy should react to temporary supply shocks. The response of core inflation to food inflation shock is found to be the highest during the 2nd to 3rd quarter and starts dampening thereafter.
