Pakistan must realise cross-border terrorism against India will invite consequences: Delhi's strong Right of Reply in UNGA
India has slammed Pakistan in the UN General Assembly, saying its «fingerprints» are on terrorist incidents across the world and the country should realise that cross-border terrorism against India will «inevitably invite consequences». India exercised its Right of Reply in the UN General Assembly on Friday in response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raising the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in his address at the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. «This Assembly regrettably witnessed a travesty this morning. A country run by the military, with a global reputation for terrorism, narcotics trade and transnational crime has had the audacity to attack the world's largest democracy,» First Secretary in India's Permanent Mission to the UN Bhavika Mangalanandan said, delivering India's Right of Reply.

Fought LS poll like a 'fakir', was not sure of victory: Supriya Sule
Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Supriya Sule has said that she contested this year's Lok Sabha election from the Baramati seat like a «fakir» and was not «100 per cent» sure of her victory. Speaking to CNN-News 18 channel, the Baramati MP said on Friday that it is «probably unlikely» that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will project a chief ministerial face for the Maharashtra assembly polls due in November. Sule, the working president of the NCP (SP) — a key constituent of the MVA — said the alliance will make the right person the chief minister after the polls. On the high-stakes contest in Baramati against her sister-in-law Sunetra Pawar, wife of her estranged cousin and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Sule said, «In my own election, I was 100 per cent not sure that I am going to make it because I was fighting against all odds.»

I will receive gratuity of Rs 3 lakh; is this gratuity amount taxable?
My wife is 35 years old and has been working for 13 years. She is planning to quit work and will receive a sum of Rs 3 lakh as gratuity. She has a high risk appetite. Can you suggest some mutual funds or stocks for investing this amount? Also, will the gratuity be taxable? Rushabh Desai, Founder, Rupee With Rushabh Investment Services: Given your wife’s age, high risk appetite, and long-term investment horizon of more than 10 years, a portfolio with 50-60% in flexi-cap funds, 20-25% in mid-cap funds, and 20-25% in small-cap funds is ideal for wealth creation.

What is the right portfolio allocation as equities look toppish? Sandip Sabharwal answers
Sandip Sabharwal, asksandipsabharwal.com, says portfolio allocation varies from person to person and the age group which they are in, etc. But for people who do not stay in the US and their currency is a reserve currency, gold has always been a very good investment. Today, it is one of the biggest sources of wealth for Indians as per current calculations. It is almost 75% of the country's GDP. It is pure currency and can be easily encashed at any point of time. Gold should be 10-15% of the asset allocation. Bonds and debt depend on person to person. But everyone should have one year of expenditure and some additional amount in fixed income and bonds to take care of your need if you cannot pull out of risky assets. This massive rally which is underway in auto, completely undoes what you were saying a couple of weeks ago, the inventory buildup and the fact that there was a lot of discounting and all those clamours which were coming through. What do you make of the auto sector right now? Sandip Sabharwal: When we were discussing the industry at that time, the two-wheeler stocks were running up and the four-wheelers were correcting and what I had said was that in anticipation of festival demand, it is likely that the four-wheelers will also see some sort of revival going forward. Now, it is a question of delivery. These companies have to deliver on the festival season sales and that is the challenge.

If elected, will Kamala Harris be the most foul-mouthed president in US history?
Kamala Harris will become the most obnoxious US president in history. It doesn't seem like the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies Legislative Summit is the right place for the woman who aspires to be the next head of state to use profanity. However, that is precisely what transpired in May when US Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to a group of young Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. A few weeks before Joe Biden declared he would not run for reelection, Harris stated that you have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open. Sometimes they won't, in which case you have to kick down that door, followed by a cuss word. Her audience at that point in time clapped and laughed, whereas a few decades ago they might have gasped or taken in the expletive silently. Harris later apologized for her language. However, it wasn't the first time the Democratic presidential candidate had used a four-letter word in public, and it won't be the last.
