Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on Saturday said National Defence Academy (NDA) cadets must carry forward the vast experience of their training to service academies and bonds they made at the institute in planning and execution of operations. The Air Chief Marshal was the reviewing officer of the 147th course of the NDA and addressed the Passing Out Parade at the tri-service training institute in Khadakwasla. Speaking on the occasion, he said, «The vast experience of training at the NDA needs to be carried forward to the respective service academies, and the bond created here must be carried towards planning and execution of our operations. I am confident that you will all don the mantle of jointness as proudly as you will don your service uniforms.» He said as young officers, the role of NDA cadets in any future conflict would be pivotal in ensuring that the enemy designs are defeated and that the territorial integrity of a great nation is not compromised.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expresses concern over Rajasthan court notice on Ajmer shrine
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday expressed concern over the Rajasthan court’s notice on a suit on the famous Sufi shrine of saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer terming it as “disturbing” and a “serious” issue for Muslims across the subcontinent. He was referring to a plea filed in September at the local court in Ajmer, seeking directions to start worship at the Ajmer Shrine, which the plea claimed was a Shiva temple. On November 27, the court issued notices to the dargah committee, the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Archaeological Survey of India concerning the shrine, which is visited by devotees across the religious and political spectrum. Mirwaiz, while addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jama Masjid in downtown Srinagar, said the Rajasthan court order right after the killing of five Muslim youth in Sambhal of Uttar Pradesh in discriminatory police action.

UK launches crackdown on firms exploiting migrant workers
UK government has announced a crackdown on rogue employers who have been exploiting migrant workers, banning offenders from hiring any more overseas staff. Businesses who employ migrants under the UK’s sponsorship system will also be prohibited from charging workers for any costs associated with that sponsorship, in a new measure designed to reduce exploitation. A recent report from the Work Rights Centre, a charity which advises migrant workers, found as many as 177 companies held a license to sponsor migrant workers despite breaking employment law. Many have been accused of exploiting migrant workers by charging them thousands of pounds for visa-related costs and then forcing them to work for under the minimum wage, or failing to provide them with any hours at all.
