Iran-Israel conflict escalates, according to TOI. The rising tensions, fueled by Iran's missile attacks on Tel Aviv and other cities on Wednesday, have left many Indian workers and students deeply anxious. “The situation is tough… We’ve never faced anything as threatening as this,” shared Rajesh Medicherla, a caregiver from Telangana working in Tel Aviv. Medicherla recorded a video showing a missile striking a building in the city, and in the footage, he can be heard exclaiming in Telugu, “bro… bro… padutundi (brother, it’s falling)!” He added that no one expected the missiles to reach as far as Tel Aviv. The attacks have left many Indian nationals, including students and workers, deeply unsettled. Although most remain safe for now, there is a growing sense of alarm as the situation could worsen at any moment. Several research scholars from Bengal, who are currently in Israel, are anxious to return to India but are facing obstacles. With most international flights grounded, their attempts to return home are being thwarted. Many are awaiting instructions from India’s Ministry of External Affairs regarding possible evacuations.

Without the new law, projects from the $52.7 billion CHIPS Act of 2022 could have been forced to undergo additional federal environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 to win federal permits. Proponents say those projects had already complied with federal, state and local environmental regulations and permitting requirements and that without the change they could have potentially faced years of additional delays.

markets UPS Man film President reports Schools Kamala Harris' past statements on domestic abuse resurface following allegations against her husband, Doug Emhoff
Kamala Harris's previous condemnations of domestic abuse and sexual assault perpetrators are coming back to haunt her in the wake of allegations that Doug Emhoff slapped her ex-girlfriend. This is because there is no evidence that her now-husband forcefully slapped an ex-girlfriend more than ten years ago. Critics point to Harris' previous statements supporting survivors of abuse, which have sparked renewed debate in light of the Emhoff allegations. As the two waited in the valet line after an event at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2012, the second gentleman, Doug Emhoff, a 59-year-old Hollywood lawyer, struck his then-flavour, a prosperous New York attorney, in the face so hard, that she spun around, three unnamed friends of the woman, as quoted in a report by the New York Post. Critics of Harris quickly capitalized on the alleged abuse, which they said was caused by Emhoff's misguided jealousy that he thought his beau was flirting with another man. They cited years in which the vice president asserted that she believes women who have experienced sexual assault.

US congressional elections, albeit on a temporary basis. A federal appeals court said that betting on the US congressional election can be resumed on a temporary basis. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has lifted a prior injunction that prohibited New York startup company Kalshi from betting on which political party will control the House and Senate following the election, which will happen in November. The recent rule of the U.S. Court of Appeals has cleared the way for restarting the betting activity, and the court continues to deliberate on the core issues surrounding the case, which means that the court is taking time to analyze the implications and legalities, as per ABC News. Kalshi has only offered betting on congressional races, but there is no immediate indication that Kalshi is planning to broaden its betting options to feature presidential elections. As the political climate heats up, stakeholders are eager to see whether the platform will diversify its offerings in the near future. The court has declared that it will reconsider a ban willingly only if the relevant commission presents evidence that is a threat of serious harm to the interests of the public in the coming week.
