The officials said the airlifting of 144 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 44 Jammu and Kashmir Police officers for deployment at 31 polling booths in the remote pockets marks the maiden airlift of men and materials in the country under the Lok Sabha elections. In preparation for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the significant deployment of security personnel has been executed in both the cut off remote regions of Kishtwar with joint efforts of the district election office, Kishtwar, and the Indian Air Force (IAF), they said.

An internal Boeing review found that Chief Executive David Calhoun and other top executives took personal trips worth more than $500,000 on the company’s private jets and other planes that were improperly recorded as business travel. The review and correction, which Boeing disclosed in a securities filing, was prompted by a Wall Street Journal investigation last year into the executives’ use of the company’s fleet of private jets, people familiar with the matter said. Boeing’s review found that some flights by the executives in 2021 and 2022 “were not previously classified as perquisites by the company but should have been classified as such in accordance with SEC rules and guidance," the company said in its proxy filing April 5.

In February, the Income Tax department has frozen four main bank accountants of the Congress on a tax demand of Rs 210 crore for 2018-19.

SC Lowy, the Hong Kong-based hedge fund, has invested in the debt of two projects recently. It had bought Rs 275 crore rupee bonds issued by Pune-based real estate developer Pharande Township and Rs 100 crore in the Srinagar-Banihal Expressway. An alternative investment fund backed by SC Lowy has invested in non-convertible debentures (NCD) in the last week of March. While Pharande NCDs do not pay any interest up to June 30, 2024 and 14% until maturity on March 31, 2026, Srinagar Banihal has offered 16% on the NCDs. The proceeds will be used for loan repayments and for working capital, a source said. In case of Srinagar Banihal Expressway Ltd, a subsidiary of Ramky Infrastructure, the proceeds from the NCDs will be used by SBEL to repay an inter-corporate deposit.

The MVA coalition in Maharashtra announced its seat-sharing arrangement for the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday with the Shiv Sena (UBT) securing a substantial portion with 21 seats, while the Congress will contest 17 seats, and the NCP (SP) 10 seats. Talking to reporters here, Gaikwad said, «Earlier, Congress used to contest five seats in Mumbai, leaving only Mumbai North-East to the undivided Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). So we were demanding equal seat-sharing this time.»
