I would like to say here that when I was there in the midst of the people, a lot of slogans were being raised but I never heard the slogan 'Pakistan Zindabad', but whatever it is we have asked the police and let the police investigate it,» he said further.

FIR has been registered against the JD(S) leader contesting the Rajya Sabha elections in Karnataka, D Kupendra Reddy, and his aides at the Vidhana Soudha police station in Bengaluru, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah too confirmed that an FIR has been registered for «threatening» the Congress MLAs in connection with the Rajya Sabha elections. «The Congress leaders not only spoke about allurement and threat to their MLAs time and again but also registered an FIR against Kupendra Reddy and his aides,» the JD(S) second-in-command told reporters here. Kumaraswamy said the complainant MLA did not say that he was lured, but that some other MLAs were «approached». «Melukote MLA Darshan Puttannaiah of Karnataka Sarvodaya Paksha too had said that it's true that his vote was sought but no one had lured him,» the JD(S) state chief claimed. Kumaraswamy also said the BJP and JD(S) had decided that the votes of its 19 JD(S) MLAs and the additional BJP votes after its first preferential votes would go to Kupendra Reddy. Siddaramaiah slammed the Janata Dal (Secular) for allegedly trying to lure Congress legislators to get its candidate Kupendra Reddy elected.

After Nithin Kamath's stroke, doctors share life-saving advice on heart and brain
Zerodha's CEO Nithin Kamath revealed on Monday that he experienced a «mild stroke» six weeks ago. He attributed the stroke to a combination of factors including the recent passing of his father, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and excessive exercise. The revelation by 44-year-old Kamath, who is a fitness enthusiast, has reignited debate about work-life balance. Kamath noticed symptoms such as facial drooping and difficulty with reading and writing. He anticipates a full recovery within 3-6 months. After the mild stroke, Nithin Kamath said he wondered «why a person who's fit and takes care of himself could be affected». Zerodha cofounder said that his doctor «said you need to know when you need to shift the gears down a bit.» Noting that Nithin Kamath is one of the «fittest persons», Hyderabad-based neurologist Dr Sudhir Kumar said the Zerodha founder has rightly has rightly recognized five likely risk factors that could have caused his stroke: Stress (of losing his father), sleep deprivation, over-exercising (over-working out), exhaustion (related to work commitments and workouts) and dehydration.

JPMorgan executive alleges caste discrimination in Gandhinagar housing society, narrates 'nightmarish' incident
Anirudh Kejriwal, a vice president at JPMorgan Chase & Co, took to social media to narrate his experience of buying a flat in a society at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He alleged caste discrimination, saying that the society is barring his entry due to his caste. He also alleged that he was threatened by a gathering of around 30 people who warned him against buying the flat. In a series of tweets, the JP Morgan executive, who works in GIFT City, said: «Shocked to face blatant caste discrimination in Sant Vihar 1 Society, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. My attempt to buy a flat turned into a nightmare as society's management is barring my entry due to caste. After paying a significant advance, planning was underway to finalize the sale deed. But the seller’s evasion on providing the NOC from the society was the first red flag. Little did I know, the real issue lay deeper.» «My concerns were confirmed when the society’s chairman and management openly stated their refusal to allow people from ‘other’ castes to move in. In the heart of Gujarat, this open discrimination left me in disbelief.»

Karnataka: Congress, BJP row over UK professor barred from entering India
Congress in Karnataka and BJP have locked horns over UK professor Nitasha Kaul being denied entry into India for the state-organised conference on the Constitution over the last weekend. The ruling Congress has hit out at the BJP, calling the incident yet another example of how the Centre restricts both individual and state rights. “It is a stark reminder of the multiple challenges to the constitutional idea of India. All patriotic Indians must reflect on these threats and unite to reclaim our Constitution,” Social Welfare Minister H C Mahadevappa said on Monday. The Karnataka government, he added, had every right to host a programme on Constitution awareness and invite an expert to speak at the convention. Industries Minister MB Patil said the incident showed what type of democracy there was in India. “This is not a good thing for our country because in our country Baba Saheb Ambedkar has given a world class Constitution where everyone’s views are respected. There is a freedom to talk,” he said.
