In an interview with ET, Vishal Chaudhary, co-founder at Zetwerk, said the company is in advanced stages of acquiring firms that specialise in high precision manufacturing, which will compliment its current portfolio of electronic warfare equipment. The executive said the acquisition would be in the Rs 50-75 crore range and would most likely be from Europe. “We have to be very selective in the choice. At the end of the day, the application is aerospace and defence, so that sort of narrows the world and then there are certain international regulations where you can go and where you can’t. So, Europe is one of those potential areas where there are some very good companies,” Chaudhary said, adding that negotiations are at an advanced stage and the acquisition could be completed within six months.

UltraTech Cement Limited Aditya Birla Group on Tuesday said it is commissioning two new greenfield capacities totalling 5.4 mtpa in the states of Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. This will take the Company’s total cement capacity to 151.6 mtpa. This capacity is more than 150 per cent of the capacity in the United States and 80 per cent of Europe's capacity, said the company in a statement. “It took 36 years for the cement business of the Aditya Birla Group, to get to a capacity of 100 mtpa. And UltraTech has subsequently added the next 50 mtpa in less than 5 years with an investment of around Rs. 32,000 crores,” it added.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd on Monday said it has commissioned a 200 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is expected to generate around 485 million units of green energy annually offsetting over 3,88,000 tonnes of carbon footprints, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) said in a statement. Subsidiary TP Saurya Ltd (TPSL) has commissioned a 200 MW solar project located in Bikaner, Rajasthan, for Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL). The project will be integrated into the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) Bus, ensuring efficient distribution of clean energy across the region, it said. The total renewables capacity of TPREL has reached 9,018 MW (PPA capacity is 7,632 MW), including 4,547 MW projects under various stages of implementation and operational capacity is 4,471 MW, which includes 3,444 MW solar and 1,027 MW wind.
