Nikhil lost polls but he remains a fine human being, says Union Minister Kumaraswamy's wife Anita
HD Kumaraswamy's wife Anita Kumaraswamy on Monday said her son Nikhil Kumaraswamy faced defeat only in the elections, but his humanity and compassion remain undefeated. In the high-profile contest in Channapatna bypoll, Kumaraswamy Jr, who contested as NDA candidate, lost to Congress candidate CP Yogeshwar by over 26,000 votes. In an emotional social media post, the union minister's wife, a former lawmaker herself, said she had accepted her son' s defeat. «In an electoral system, victories and defeats are part of the process. For someone to win, another must inevitably lose. However, there are numerous reasons behind any loss, and it is not my intention to discuss those reasons here.»

We also believe in Jassi Bhai: Rishabh Pant quotes Siraj's iconic lines from T20 World Cup on Instagram story after winning Perth Test
Rishabh Pant took to social media to applaud his teammates following India's sensational victory against Australia, in a rather quirky way. Picking on the memes that went around, featuring Mohammed Siraj's iconic lines from the T20 World Cup win, Pant shared heartfelt appreciation for his teammates on his Instagram story. «I only believe in Jassi bhai, because he is a gamechanger,» Siraj had said in a post-victory interaction in the USA in June, when Bumrah had turned the game around for team India. This, later, became a part of memes and appreciation posts across social media.

Microfinance sector tightens lending norms to address asset quality stress
Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN), one of the two self-regulatory organisations for the sector, has decided to implement a stricter set of guardrails for its members to help them overcome the severe asset quality stress that they are subjected to at present. The new norms, when implemented, are expected to squeeze the quantum of credit delivery to customers at the bottom of the income pyramid and reduce their over-indebtedness, which has been at the heart of the present sectoral crisis. MFIN has requested its members to stop lending to delinquent customers who have overdue loans for more than 60 days with an outstanding amount more than Rs 3000. The existing industry norm was not lending to a client with overdue for more than 90 days with more than Rs 3000. If a loan is not serviced for 90 days, it is classified as non-performing.

Telangana government refuses to accept Adani's Rs 100 cr donation for Skill University
Revanth Reddy on Monday said the state government will not accept the Rs 100 crore donation announced by Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani for the Young India Skill University being set up in the state. The decision was taken since Adani's announcement gave rise to «unnecessary discussions» that it may appear favouring the state government or the CM, if the donation was accepted, he said while addressing a press conference. He said so far the Telangana government has not accepted a single rupee into its account from any organisation, including Adani Group.
