However, it looks like Moo Deng may have some competition in the cuteness department. Enter Ava, the golden tiger cub from the Chiang Mai Night Safari, who is now stealing the spotlight and winning over netizens worldwide.
Ava is a rare and stunning example of a golden, or strawberry, tiger—a breed that gets its unique golden fur from recessive genes. These tigers are extremely rare, with fewer than 100 believed to exist globally.
Luckily for the Chiang Mai Night Safari, they not only have Ava, but also her older sister, Luna, who shares the same exquisite fur. Both were born in 2021, making them just three years old, yet photos of Ava alongside a zookeeper show her impressive size. Despite her large stature, many netizens have compared her to an overgrown kitten, charmed by her soft fur and gentle, innocent expression.
