India recorded nearly 25,000 cases of suspected heat stroke and 56 fatalities due to multiple heatwave days across the country from March to May, according to government data. The month of May has been particularly harsh for the region, with temperatures in the capital Delhi and the nearby state of Rajasthan reaching up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).

Realme has officially announced that the global launch date for the Realme GT 6 is set for June 20, 2024. Although the announcement does not specifically mention India, it is likely that the phone will debut in the country on the same day. This release follows closely on the heels of the Realme GT 6T, making it the second Realme GT phone to launch in India within a short span.

Public sector lender Bank of India has launched a special FD plan called ‘666 Days – Fixed Deposit’. The FD scheme offers very attractive returns on deposits as high as 7.95% per annum for super senior citizens for 666 days for deposit amount of less than Rs 2 crore. Super senior citizens are those who are 80 years of age or above.

State Bank of India Fixed Deposits: SBI has revised interest rates for its fixed deposits (FDs), including ‘Sarvottam’, for various tenures. With the latest revision, the interest rates now are ranging from 3.5% to 7.9% for tenures of up to 10 years. The new FD interest rates are effective from May 15, 2024, according to the SBI website.

Fixed deposit investors continue to enjoy the best period as banks continue to offer them sweet deals on deposits across tenures. In a fresh move, Unity Small Finance Bank has revised its interest rates on fixed deposits of amounts below Rs 2 crore.

Ahead of the June 4 results of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election 2024, India Today-Axis My India exit poll has projected a thumping win for the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance in the state. According to the exit poll, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Results are likely to see the alliance winning as many as 120 out of 175 seats in the state Assembly. In terms of the breakup, while Telugu Desam Party is predicted to win 55-77 seats, ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan’s JSP is projected to win 16-18 seats and the BJP is likely to bag up to two seats in Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, incumbent YSR Congress is predicted to win 55-77 seats.

Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty gained 653.55 points to 23184.25, while the BSE Sensex traded 2163.33 points up at 76124.64.

On the technical charts, the 200-DMA of the stock stood at Rs 215.04, while the 50-DMA was at Rs 143.74. If a stock trades above 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it usually means the immediate trend is upward. On the other hand, if the stock trades below 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it is considered a bearish trend and if trades between these averages, then it suggests the stock can go either way.
