Realme has officially announced that the global launch date for the Realme GT 6 is set for June 20, 2024. Although the announcement does not specifically mention India, it is likely that the phone will debut in the country on the same day. This release follows closely on the heels of the Realme GT 6T, making it the second Realme GT phone to launch in India within a short span.
It remains unclear whether the Realme GT 6 will be positioned above or below the Realme GT 6T. However, Realme is marketing the GT 6 as an “AI flagship killer,” in contrast to the GT 6T, which was simply dubbed a “flagship killer.” This suggests that the GT 6 might include advanced AI features, marking Realme’s return to the GT series globally after nearly two years.
In addition to the GT 6, Realme is also preparing to launch the Realme GT 7 Pro, expanding its GT lineup.
Rumours suggest that the Realme GT 6 could be a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo 6 from China. If true, the GT 6 would feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, the same chip that powers the Poco F6 in India and set to power the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Civi, too. Expected specifications include a 6.78-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness, a 5,500 mAh battery with 120W fast charging, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0.
For comparison, the recently launched Realme GT 6T in India features a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor, offers up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and includes a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary camera
