SLCM) Group has launched physical “Krishi Quality Janch Kendra” an AI ML-empowered solution that is set to facilitate food grain quality checks (QC) in India. Aimed at helping farmers, traders, FPOs as well as corporate entities involved in QC of food grain, a total of 31 centres have been opened in the initial phase of the initiative across Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. SLCM intends to establish at least 600 more Krishi Quality Janch Kendra Centre’s across different parts of the country till the end of February 2024.

Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) has constituted a high-level task force to oversee the establishment of the Indian Maritime Centre (IMC), in a bid to build global credibility for the Indian maritime sector. The main objective of the task force is to provide policy direction for the formation of IMC for smooth and sustainable operationalisation, the ministry said in an office memorandum.

Federal Bank is in the process of exploring both internal and external candidates for the position of managing director and chief executive officer for the bank as the term for current head Shyam Srinivasan would come to an end on September 22. The bank is in the process of launching a search since the Reserve Bank of India advised it to submit new names of new candidates responding to the bank's request for a one year extension for Srinivasan. After announcing the bank's quarterly results, Srinivasan said that RBI is perhaps not «inclined to give a one-year extension» to him and may prefer a candidate who can serve for a longer period. RBI does ot allow an incumbent head to continue for more than 15 years.

Arun Sundaresan, Head-ETF, Nippon Life India Asset Management, says “generally, most of these ETFs anyway tend to be low on expense and they may be comparable but the moot point here is that you should not be guided only by the expense ratio. If the liquidity is poor and if the impact cost is very high, that may defeat the entire purpose of low-cost investing through ETFs.” ETFs are seeing substantial numbers as far as the performance across the board are concerned, especially the volumes. I really want to understand the trigger behind these significant volume numbers. Arun Sundaresan: Obviously ETFs and index funds, passive funds as they are called, have been picking up significant traction over a period of time in the mutual fund industry. Already the total assets under management in these types of funds is around Rs 8 lakh crore. Particularly talking about ETFs, the exchange traded funds they have been around for quite some time now. But I think now after all the Fed governors have come out and said it clearly, and also seeing the CPI data, the last CPI data that came out the Fed is not going to do five or six cuts. It is probably going to do two, at best three if inflation comes down fast.

Devang Mehta: We have been liking the space so, particularly would not like to name any stock as such. But with the plethora of businesses in the wire and cable space, these companies have developed themselves from a normal cable and wire company which was a commoditized type of business, to branded businesses with pricing power. Some of these brands are very well-known in the market for Havells, for Polycab, for RR Kabel.
