While the 10 years of BJP-led NDA government is characterized by a «tough stance» on terror and no compromise on the issue of national security, the Congress-headed UPA regime of which TMC was also an ally was soft on terror, he claimed. He was addressing a rally at Durgapur in Bardhaman-Durgapur constituency. «The Congress and TMC because of their vote bank politics didn't utter a word when terror strikes took place in the country during the Congress regime (UPA regime from 2004-2014). The TMC was then part of the Congress government. They were afraid that their vote bank would take offence if they took a tough stance on terror,» Shah said.

FMCG major Marico on Monday reported a 5% year-on-year (YoY) jump in its March quarter consolidated net profit at Rs 320 crore. Unity Small Finance Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 143 crore for the March quarter against a loss of Rs 52 crore in the year ago period, backed by 55% rise in net interest income. The bank, promoted by Centrum Financial Services, said its net interest margin was at 10.8%. Its operating profit soared nearly four-fold at Rs 147 crore against Rs 37 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The results for CISCE Class 10 and 12 board exams were announced Monday morning in which the pass percentage saw a marginal increase from last year. «We have discontinued the practice of issuing merit lists for board exams from this year. The move is aimed at avoiding unhealthy competition among students,» CISCE Chief Executive and Secretary Jospeh Emmanuel said. The CBSE had last year stopped the practice of announcing merit lists for the both these board classes.

Mahindra Susten, the renewable energy arm of the Mahindra Group, plans to invest ₹21,000 crore over the next five years to develop a renewable energy asset portfolio of nearly 5.5 GW. The company, with its 39% partner Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, has committed equity to build peak capacity of that order in the next four to five years. «We have made a business plan of this capacity and got it approved with the shareholders,» MD Deepak Thakur told ET. «We are also looking at the entire green energy canvas in terms of building our portfolio of renewable energy assets which will include storage projects and round-the-clock power projects.» This January, Mahindra Group and Ontario Teachers co-sponsored an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) holding assets in the renewable energy space.
