Authorities are aggressively looking at the situation and pushing the people to come forward with any information that can help the taken eggs to be recovered. Highlighting their dedication to quickly addressing the issue, Pete & Gerry's Organics has voiced their concerns over the situation, as per USA Today.
The theft connects with a period of progressively rising egg prices in the United States because of a supply shortfall brought on by a broad outbreak of highly aggressive avian influenza, often referred to as bird flu. Egg prices in 2025 are expected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to grow by 20%, greatly surpassing the overall food price inflation of 2.2%, stated USA Today.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics said by the end of 2024, the average cost per dozen eggs had jumped to $4.10, twice the price from August 2023, as per USA Today. Large-scale chicken diseases and culling are blamed for the cost increase; they mostly affect farms in Massachusetts, California, and New York.
