Muan International Airport in South Korea on Sunday has left 28 people dead, according to reports from Yonhap news agency. The Jeju Air flight, carrying around 180 people, was returning from Bangkok when its landing gear malfunctioned, leading to a catastrophic accident.

The aircraft veered off the runway during landing, collided with a fence, and caught fire. Emergency officials promptly extinguished the flames and initiated rescue efforts. Two individuals were successfully evacuated, while others remained trapped as emergency responders worked to remove passengers from the wreckage.
Local TV footage showed thick black smoke and flames engulfing the aircraft. Emergency teams confirmed the fire was under control but could not immediately verify casualty figures. Authorities are now investigating the exact cause of the crash, including the role of the landing gear failure.
Initial reports from local media indicated over 20 casualties, later confirmed as 28 deaths. One survivor was located amidst the wreckage, and the identities of the deceased are yet to be disclosed.
