Many devices such as the floppy disks, walkman, video cassettes and pagers, among other technologies have been replaced with newer and more efficient innovations. In the early 1990s, people needed different devices to perform different activities. Cut to 2023, technological innovations have changed radically.
Now, the mighty smartphone can handle pretty much any task at hand. Billionaire businessman Anand Mahindra, whose love for innovations is an open secret, got nostalgic after an image dropped in his inbox. The Chairman of the Mahindra Group took to Twitter on Wednesday to share with his more than 10.6 million followers about the «stunning speed and scope of tech evolution.» The 69-year-old said that he was amazed to see how one device can handle all functions which was earlier performed by multiple devices.
He also shared a picture, showing the comparison. The image showed a video camera, polaroid camera, watch, walkman, pager, Nokia's first chunky mobile phone, Apple’s first laptop and Apple's first touchscreen device Newton, which were a rage in the early '90s versus the new-age Apple iPhone. «This has probably been going around and finally popped up in my inbox.
Two pics that summarise the stunning speed and scope of tech evolution. The number of functions performed in the past by multiple devices — now all in one… Amazing,» he wrote in his tweet. Mahindra's post which got more than 148K views also got the fans nostalgic.
