Neon dropped the first trailer for 'Anora,' a romantic dramedy by filmmaker Sean Baker. The film stars Mikey Madison as Anora, a high-class stripper from Brooklyn. Anora falls in love with the son of a Russian oligarch and marries him. This leads to complications with his family.
The film also features Mark Eydelshteyn, Yuriy Borisov, Karren Karagulian, and Vache Tovmasyan. 'Anora' is set to open in limited release on October 18. FilmNation Entertainment produced the film, along with Samantha Quan, Alex Coco, and Baker. At its world premiere at Cannes, the film received a 10-minute standing ovation.
'Anora' is Sean Baker's eighth writing and directing project. His previous film, 'Red Rocket,' premiered at Cannes in 2021. In 2017, 'The Florida Project' also premiered at Cannes and brought Willem Dafoe an Oscar nomination. Baker was named Best Director by the New York Film Critics Circle for the same film.
