Dr. B S Soni, one of the attending physicians, reassured concerned family members that there are no adverse effects or harm associated with this condition.
While the medical community attributes the extra digits to Polydactyly, the baby's family sees her birth in a different light.
They believe that she is the embodiment of a deity they worship, specifically, goddess Dholagarh Devi. The baby's maternal uncle, Deepak, expressed his conviction, stating, «She has come to our home as a goddess. We all are lucky that 'Lakshmi' has taken birth in our family.»
The mother of the child, Sarju Devi, and the baby girl herself are reported to be in good health following the birth.
