Over the last few months, the BJP had carried out a special drive in the slum areas in the national capital to reach out to the voters there, with BJP leaders even spending their nights there. In culmination of that exercise, Amit Shah is scheduled to hold a meeting with the pradhans of these slums and shanties in the national capital on Saturday.
Aiming to match what the AAP government has been offering Delhi voters, especially the free 300 units of electricity, the BJP's manifesto committee for Delhi assembly polls has also suggested the same, a senior BJP leader told ET.
The committee has also suggested to give 500 units of free electricity to temples and Gurudwara in Delhi. It has also suggested to promise Rs 2,500 per month to women beneficiaries in Delhi — a proposal believed to have been accepted by the BJP's central leadership.
To take stock of the preparations of the Delhi assembly polls, BJP chief JP Nadda held a meeting with the poll management committee at the party's office in the national capital.
