Will Breaking return in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics?
Breaking's popularity was off the charts in the Paris Olympics 2024 that just ended on August 11, with a grand Paris Olympics closing ceremony, that saw Hollywood stars, sports veterans and IOC officials set the stage ablaze at the Stade de France.
The organizers at the Los Angeles Olympics, scheduled for the year 2028, did not consider breaking as a sport in its set of new inductions. Instead, they opted for flag football, cricket, lacrosse and squash, in their set of choices of new sports to be introduced at the Los Angeles Olympics. USA didn't consider the fact that breakdancing had a rich history in the United States, most importantly in New York City, where this dance form is rumored to have originated in the 50's and 60's.
