solo debut! V aka Kim Taehyung dropped the title track of his new album ‘Layover’ on August 9. Titled ‘Love Me Again’, the song is faintly reminiscent of Taehyung’s earlier songs such as ‘ Stigma’ and ‘Singularity’. With unmistakeable R&B and jazz elements and themes of heartbreak, the haunting music, combined with Taehyung's gentle and mournful voice, will make you feel wistful and filled with longing.
The MV exudes retro vibes and the viewers are treated to black-and-white VHS-style montages. The song features an ethereally beautiful V, clad in a gold sequinned shirt, singing of a love lost, and looking utterly woe-begone and dashing! “I think about you all the time/Where you are, who you’re with/Lost without you, baby. I wish you would love me again/No, I don’t want nobody else,” he sings to someone in the audience.
BTS’s agency Big Hit Entertainment announced that the album will be released on September 8. It will have the following tracks — ‘Rainy Days’, ‘Slow Dancing’, ‘Blue’, ‘For Us’ and ‘Love Me Again’. The MV crossed 10 million views within 24 hours of its release on YouTube.
The song also reached the top position (number one!) on the US iTunes music video chart, prior to its full release. Since the group has gone on a hiatus, all the members of the Maknae line (Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung) have made their solo debuts. Jimin’s song ‘Like Crazy’ and Jungkook’ song ‘Seven’ have done phenomenally well, reaching top slots on the US Hot 100 chart within days of release.
